  • Outstanding to see your accomplishments with those 2 fine TWH's!!! 2 thumbs up! All horses can jump folks...that's a no brainer! It takes training to teach them to excel at anything! These 2 horses have had that & the rider is outstanding also. The rider makes a difference as well! I have 4 TWH's, one stallion, 2 mares & a new stud colt out of my stallion & mare! I wouldn't want any other breed. People are finally realizing TWH are more then padded ones, that give the bad name! Keep on Walkin'

  • @SurprizedDaily thanks for the reply! I can't find the comment you replied to me on, and I'm tired...so I'll just reply to this one lol.

  • My daughter Victoria Bennett showed the gray and won CIRCUIT CHAMPION on the Local show series in the Modified and Childrens Hunter Division 3' - competing against tb's, warmbloods, quarter horses, appendix and additional breeds.. she was also reserve Champion in the TWH Versatility show in the Jr. Division. Her titles were above anyones expectations and not given much credit where due.. There are many pictures if anyone would like to see how well he jumps 3'... i will be glad to share -

  • Epic! I'm training my horse to do that now, he loves to jump, he runs around the arena and flies over the makeshift jumps I have set up for him xD theyre cones with poles on them that stand about 2-3 feet off the ground

Your horses are beautiful, by the way. I'm sure that with the proper grooming, my walker could look just as good, i'm just too lazy to stand there with the soft brush to get him shiny xDD (I have a slacker's spray for that ;] haha!)

  • does your TWH still gait?

  • @Calicat1994 yeah, if you watch the video, theres points where the normal horses would be trotting that theyre gaiting. It's a natural gait in the horse, its no different, theres just fences in the way xD

  • @NoHorseShouldSuffer I know it is natural, I own walkers. I must have missed the gaiting the first time I watched it, caught it this time. I asked because I have seen people who want to compete in Hunter over fences, and hunter on the flat actually teach their walkers to trot in order to compete.

  • @Calicat1994 yeah haha my walker walks trots paces racks running walks, canters AND gallops xD He's not a pure walker, he's mixed with morgan (i know the morgan's in the original bloodline as well) and some other breed that I forgot, I think it was a Standardbred x Fox trotter

  • @NoHorseShouldSuffer - Yes it's natural. Training one to canter would be near impossible. I caught on to them gaiting between jumps from the instant I started the video. Only because I was looking for that strictly. They were cantering (which is a normal Walking Horse gait) & running walking when they weren't cantering. The woman riding is an outstanding rider as well! 2 thumbs up for both rider & both horses! I love seeing TWH finally being shown the true ways they should be!

  • @SurprizedDaily can you give an exmaple of where the horse is gaiting instead of cantering? not to be rude, i just seriously can't find a spot where it's at the running walk. Then again, i have never ridden a TWH, so i don't know much about them :)

  • @horseytime783 Hi sure....appprox. 4:07-4:19 it's doing a running walk through that corner.....Walkers do canter and do a fine job at it........that's 1 of their natural gaits. Ride one and you'll want one :o)

  • Hi Michaela & Kim...thanks for the post. And, trust me when I say I am definitely not a Warmblood snob. This whole thing with the TWH got started when I discovered that he could jump. . .I keep trying to explain to people that I AM NOT trying to STAND OUT, but rather FIT IN. So, I have had a group of very talented trainers who have assisted me throughout the years to see if we could really make these horses "FLY". It's been an amazing journey. . .So THANK YOU...your comments mean a lot!

  • Best I've seen yet on TWH. but I hate to see people bashing us "snobs" on warmbloods!

  • kick ass dude

  • Nice! I jump my TWH mare as well, but we are yet to compete..lol. Way to go! I love your walkers!

  • Wow! My friend wants to train a rocky mountain horse to be a circuit hunter. The only thing I notice different about the gaited horse jumpers is they jump a little flat. But this is great!
