  • Very Nice video and mobile phone. Use Search Mobile is a search engine for mobile phones. Go to my profile to see.

    w w w. NexusOneTalks. com

  • I think it will scare the pants off Apple. Can't wait to get my hands on one and the best thing it's sim free... :) congrats Google...

  • i foresee a lawsuit between apple and google over some functions in that phone.

    there's gotta be something

  • why should that happen?

    it makes no sense haha

    they didn't copy anything...

  • @Frankfurtxxl

companies usually have a way of making the slight thing become a copyright infringement.

just look at nokia, and then the counter lawsuit

  • Iphone is toy for kids ..go get a google nexus one ftw ...itz a true smartphone ...apple from last 4years got the same stupid desgin for there 3 iphone models ....comapred to iphone , nexus one is good with the new features and all !!!

  • So at Ces can you buy the nexus one there or do you have to buy it online, if so at which booth

  • scribd (dot) com/nb812

  • Hey you guys (apple and google) make a deal let google use Itunes. So that google wouldn't stop letting apple use google talk, google voice, google maps, google earth, and google documents sync. I think this is reasonable and goof for everyone

  • @luisfebres You see Google WANTS to get google talk, maps, etc in the app store, but Apple doesn't allow them to. The android marketplace is open for all developers, so if Apple wasn't such a suckish company, they could make an iTunes app for Android. Unfortunately, Apple wishes to keep its customers chained down, in my opinion in a monopolistic manner, so at the moment, no deal is in sight.

  • It's the other way round. Google wants to give away their apps to everyone, but Apple (which we all know wants to tell everyone what we can and cannot use) does not allow Google to give away their apps in the App Store. That's what forced Google into getting into making smartphones, to bypass Apple's control.

  • dammit.

im having a hard time deciding between the HTC HD2 and Nexus One.

i would've gotten Nexus One in a heartbeat if it has Java SE... but after checking gsmarena, i find out that it's only Java ME... which sucks badly.

  • Just wondering what the difference in the two are? Would it impact the quality of apps ran on the device? Would the Nexus One be upgradeable to Java SE or is that a hardware dependent thing?

  • well, there's no diff to the user if it runs properly.

for programmers, there are many problems with Java ME.

a Symbian phone may run a Java app correctly, while phones with other OSes may not, and vice versa, even if all are MIDP 2.0, CLDC 1.1.

Java is just a program on the phone to interpret and execute the compiled codes in a Java Virtual Machine. but if there aren't any installers for the phone's OS, then it forces the programmer to program in a specific way using a specific set of APIs.

  • is there a version for sprint?

  • That phone looks kick ass!

  • Nexus Sucks! Droid Sucks! Yo Mama Sucks! Bring back the Morse Code.

  • iphone has voice search, you can get a free app that does it.

  • Looks good. I might get it once it comes to Verizon.

  • You can just buy the phone and use it with Verizon.

  • Oh, they have an unlocked CDMA version? Cool.

  • NOT CDMA version. Only GSM right now.

  • That's what I thought, so I have to wait to get it for Verizon.

  • I personally would wait. Google will introduce a few more phones this year.

Google's near-term goal is to keep releasing new versions of Android -- in quick successions -- until Android definitively surpasses the iPhone OS. I'd wait until that happens before jumping in.

  • OMG! Totally blown away!

  • dunno, might be a bit better

  • @ChristinaWatkinson not really...does the iphone have noise cancelling and voice search via google? pay attention to the video.

  • I did. the way they make it portrays it as an imitation

  • You can argue that Microsoft steals. But anyone who study tech history knows that Apple is the biggest shameless scam artist.

  • Like iPhone is an imitation of Palm devices?

Apple actually does nothing original. What it has is the PROPAGANDA muscles to brainwash the ignorant masses into deluding that its ripoffs of lesser known products (i.e., Xerox PARC, MPMan, iRiver) are the "original" and "revolutionary" breakthroughs, and then overcharges brainless sheeps for those ripoffs.

  • but the fact that they even had to be like "look, the Nexus One isn't about any specific device that we're trying to go up against" KEYWORDS "any specific device" LOL

even if iPhone is an imitation of other products (the products that pretty much failed on getting consumers), come on, you can tell by the way he said that quote that it REALLY WAS about imitating that "certain specific device" that we ALL know is the iPhone.

  • Actually, Palm devices (to which iPhone has A LOT of resemble) pretty much had the market in handheld. However, Palm was brought down mismanagement, and Apple just swoop in and took advantage of the opportunity. When I first saw iPhone, my first reaction was, "wow... this looks and feels just like a Palm..."

  • The reason why Google was forced by Apple to get into the smartphone market is because Google has been trying to get their free apps (Google Voice, Maps, etc.) into the App Store, but Apple -- being the tyrannical, monopolistic control freak -- does not allow Google to do so. So Google decided, "Phuck Apple. We'll just make our smartphones, and we're going to make ours better."
