  • HAN SOLO?

  • One of the great songs that you will never hear on mainstream country radio. So thankful for youtube!

  • sorry Johnny Cash...Youtube is trying to deny me access to your awesome music with its ads

  • I ain't sayin' I beat the devil, but I drank his beer for nothin'.

  • Cool record player!

  • Nice video, a couple of great shots. No need to mention how great the song is. Written by Kris sung by John, a combination that has never failed.

  • R.I.P. John Cash, gone but never forgotten

  • There are still a lot of Johnny Cash original albums not yet on CD. "Hello, I'm Johnny Cash" is one of them and has this song on it. There is also a weak compilation CD named the same so don't be confused.

  • @friscoj68 yeah but thats the beauty of having a record player, they make them today and new ones aswell, Which is great because, you have something to collect and preserve music for future generations and it is a solid archiver for media and is proven, And dude you can pick up those cash albums from 5 to 10 bux on ebay most times, which is great.

  • @hambone9119

    unless your records warp!

  • @SupremeParkitects that is a bummer thats why mp3 is great aswell gotta incorporate the old and the new.

  • Everyone shut up, "The Man in Black" Johnny Cash is speaking

  • Ow my God i miss you mr. Cash. You're the best!

  • check out Kris Kristofferson`s "Jesus Was A Capricorn"

  • DL the audio from this vid at tubepull doht cohm.

  • Great song and I'm not a huge fan but you gotta love this story.

  • oh how quickly people forget that The Devil sings the blues....

  • Amazingly great song

  • Three people didn't like the video but loved the song ;)

  • Kris Kristofferson wrote this song about Johnny Cash n June Carter To Beat the Devil

  • Left his pride THEN stepped inside the bar.The devil is in the bar,but not all people.

  • He didn't fit into any catagory but "ENTERTANER" He was the best and will be missed by many for many years

  • I cant say that I beat the devil but I drank his free beer and stole his song lmao

  • John Cash- a genre in himself. He isn't just country, nor just blues, nor any year's version of "pop".

  • johnny does it great but check out waylon's version

  • amazing song, instantly to the top of my best songs list

  • i love the video, it is ingenious!!

  • Johnny Cash , gracias por tu musica, Un Orureño que te admira .

  • Superbe version !! merci pour ce morceau.

  • time to beat the fallen angel

  • johnny was the man not just because im dui but beacuse he was!!!

  • GREAT

  • R.I.P Johnny Cash

  • God, how I miss Johnny... & his songs... Wish they would pull POP back off the country FM! -- go back to the roots!

  • @jwdundon hank williams 3 is pretty good new stuff should listen to him

  • @jwdundon actually i feel it is more country rock but i agree, i dislike the "country" of now the only country i love is johnny here and john denver

  • @jwdundon every now and then i will hear a song of his on the radio.the last song i heard was like 4 weeks ago and it was the song "Hurt"

  • why's there a Verve LP spinning here, would it have been that hard to get a Columbia record on the tt?

  • if you googled his name to figure out how to spell it, then why did you spell it wrong. Its Kris not Kriss.

  • This song was also released by Columbia records on the LP under the label "Hello, I'm Johnny Cash"

  • "...my thirsty wanted whiskey and my hungry needed beans..."

I´m laughing every time i hear that!

  • its me again being the smart ass by pointing to the verve label, but i also have the gratest thanks for your playing my favorite lp of all time--let me know what i can send you if i dont have it i find it for you.....harpo

  • Awesome.

Always discovering great Johnny Cash songs. It's amazing how many great tunes he's sung.

  • actually it's Kris Kristofferson's song, but there is a record on which they sing together :)

  • kris wrote this while listening to a poem johnny recited to him. kris said he thought he was "a great and wasted man" close to dying but that "now" (at the point of recording the song) he's no longer wasted but has the love of a good woman, whose voice, i figure, you can hear backing johnny up - for an important symbolic reason.

a great song for an artist to wake up and listen to.

  • kris' original version is definately better but i still lvoe Johnny's

  • wonderfull

  • Kris wrote some fantastic songs;many of which Johnny covered..I love this..Thanx so much.

  • Stonkin' great song...Devil's right though.

  • If your sayin the devil is right then in that same statement your saying that Cash lived his life for nothing...sorry, but I don't believe that and I too will die believing someone wants to know.

  • What good is it only some will listen?

Faith is a good thing; to believe in something, gives you strength, but the Devil's words here are about fate, not faith. When you're a cynic like me, you have fate, the certainty of what Will be, if in that assurance I damn all mankind including some that do listen to men like Cash, than so be it. The devil's haunts a lonely man; apparently. The sole grace left to the devil is Truth of fate: "No-one wants to know."

Still this is a great song.

  • The good that just a few will listen, is that those few might have a great impact on the next man. The devil haunts a lonely man, yes, but that lonely man is more loved by God than he ever dare imagine. The grace of His only son is: "Come to me, and you will find rest".

  • The words of Christ are beautiful and true but they have no bearing on my life.

Like I said Faith is a splendid thing, but in Fate there is a freedom that makes all things in life seem insignificant and bearable.

Still PerOleLind, thanks for the words of wisdom.

  • Of course the words of Chirst are beautiful, he is the Savior of Mankind.

  • if you think the words of christ have no bearing on your life, listen to the song Cant Keep a Good Man Down by Newsong

  • Kris might of wrote it but Cash made it his own like Jimmy made Dylan's All Along the Watchtower his. Anyway what a great song, an ispiriation for any struggling artist, musician or otherwise.

  • what a fantastic video;it does justice to a great song;sung by the best...

  • Kris:"I came across a great & wasted friend of mine in the hallway of a recording studio, and while he was reciting some poetry to me, I saw he was about a step from dying & I couldn't help wondering why. I'm happy to say he's no longer wasted, he's got him a good woman. I'd like to dedicate this to John&June who helped show me how to beat the devil." Thanks John, Thanks June & thanks Keis. You showed ME how to at least throw the devil some punches.

  • the great songs of kris! i love him singing it though!!

  • John sing a Song Kris Kristofferson dedicated to him. Nice ; )

  • I have the only version of Kris singing this to Johnny. It is amazing

  • Great Thanks

  • Kristofferson wrote this song in a tribute to Johnny Cash and June Carter

  • Quite true. Kris wrote this about Johnny. Saw it on a Ch4 Doc where he admitted it. Amazing song.

  • Hi man.

Buy CD Kristofferson. You'll find there original of this song.

  • The song was written about him and his alcoholism.

  • Freaking great, Johnny know´s what he is doing.
