  • haha, People of the itnervent.

  • @knolleke24 well im just saying that they dont need to be doing stuff like that cuz its NOT funny except to immature people who dont care and thats all iv got to say.

  • I love Rob, but this song is annoying/bad.

  • Eh... uhm.... Ritalin is a central nervouse system stimulant. It works kinda like amphetamine... Certainly doesn't make you slow down...

  • @NorcanDiaboli

In teenagers and younger a lot of drugs effect them differently, hence why most anti-depressants come with warnings about use in children and "young adults".

  • @NorcanDiaboli

Children and adults with ADD or ADHD process chemicals differently. I am ADD, and I can drink a cup of coffee or a Red Bull to help me sleep. Ritalin would affect me sort of the same way, but I was never put on it.

  • @arwenartdotcom Not according to what i have read on the subject. The reason why stimulants cause "you guys" to "calm down" is because it increases the overall activity of the brain, including the areas involved in controlling impulse behaviour, where you naturally have less activity, which again is the reason you more often act impulsive.

  • So glad I don't have to take Ritalin anymore. It used to make me really depressed and sometimes it made me feel dizzy.

  • This is so true. I have ADHD, and I was on Ritalin for about a year before I went off of it. Those drugs made me feel like an emotionless robot. Although I got straight A's on them, I couldn't stand feeling like a zombie all the time. I think people with ADHD aren't handicapped, we just have a different brain type that doesn't let us become "drones" as easily as others.

  • haha the chorus is brilliant as he slows down coz of the ritalin , love paravonian

  • @knolleke24 well I'm just saying. People take things differently. And i don't like thew things its saying, i don't give a crap if it is suppose to be offensive or not. it not funny, they should think about if some one WITH ADHD sees this.

  • @sunshinegrl2008 - ADHD is a concept where people with high energy are labeled to have a mental disorder. This is bullshit. What's a disorder is the education system and scientistic establishment.

To conform or not to conform. That is the question. May all my sins be remembered.

I hope they do see it. And stop taking their meds. Willpower and liberty are necessary to be a complete human being.

  • @willyrobinson the only part of ADHD I don't agree with is the last 'D' - because it negates all the advantages and only sees the disadvantages. ADHD is more than just high energy - saying it doesn't exist causes more problems than it solves. Ritalin can help some. It's actually a stimulant and stimulates the dopamide receptor (which is underdeveloped in people with ADHD). Dopamide is a natural hormone that provides focus and emotional control. Ritalin doesn't sap the will.

  • @SpiroEx Ever been on it? It -does- drain your will.

  • @GryffinDarkBreed I found that I had no problems with it in that respect but it elevated my blood pressure and for that reason I gave up on it. Because of it's physical side effects and because it is a powerful drug I'm less comfortable about the idea of using it on kids but I was 21 when I was diagnosed and started taking it. I now take Atomoxetine which seens to be less effective for the ADHD but doesn't raise my blood pressure.

  • @GryffinDarkBreed FYI I wouldn't make a comment on something like that if I hadn't experienced it for myself

  • @SpiroEx Well that might have something to do with Ritalin being a cutesy cover name for the real chemical name. Methylphenidate. Ritalin is a Methamphetamine. It's fucking Meth.

  • @GryffinDarkBreed Methyl=CH3, one carbon atom bonded to three hydrogen atoms. Take Chemistry. It really helps. But having been on Ritalin myself, I will agree with you that it really sucks.

  • I have a grandson who is on something like this and he is 8. This may be appropriate for some kids. But when any kid moves in his chair and the parents and teachers agree, drugging their kid is the best solution......for them maybe..... Really liked the point that the mom has no Idea of who her child is.. and sadly he has no choice in his own life. This song like many others, a wake up call and you nail them on the head every time. It is so much easier to get the point if you can see the humor.

  • I was on Ritalin for a while when I was younger, however it totally spaced me out, so I switched to Aderall and I've been on it about.... three years with no major problems. If docs and parents would be more careful to properly diagnose ADD and AD/HD, this song wouldn't have any truth to it. every kid under 15 is hyper and can't sit still, has nothing to do with ADD or AD/HD, it's just the way they are... Although I was so hyper when i was 10 that I could phase though objects.

  • Wow. Depressing

  • i especially enjoy the lazy parting line: (hugs, not drugs)

  • Ritalin is mainly used for ADHD and improves the ability to concentrate.

  • But is often over-prescribed due to the relative over-diagnosis of ADHD.

  • might be...

I read an article about a camp with ADHD-diagnosed children.

They managed and slowed down the ADHD and the children became calmer.

But to manage it like this you still need to many advisers for a few children and that can't be realized.

  • Either you'll say ok to end up a special ed class full with different dissabilities/ defficienies -only thing in common they are not "normal'- or you'll swallow one of those pills.

    Swallow the pill, chill!

Nobody gives a damn what you need, they need you to fit.

  • @butimar68 ok, my brother has ADHD and it is not that they have dissabilites they r just different and most of them r smarter than anyone i know so special ed classes arnt always the case.and none of them have anything in common they r all special in their own way and nxt time someone writes a song like this they need to think about if it offends anyone.

  • people here in the united states have far too much free time, that's why we argue =I

  • @isleschild That's also why Clinton got impeached for a blow job. we have nothing more serious to complain about.

  • What do you expect when people who can't hack it in their own countries (my ancestors included) come there hoping for a better life. We get the refuse from every other country in the world.

  • I would hope you guess, as it said 'people here in the United States.' ;)

Though I disagree with isleschild, we disagree because we can. We do have that silly First Amendment in our constitution ^^

    ~Kat

  • @seba20sa we are united in our desire to have the freedom to argue about every last little issue. freedom of speech. first amendment. everyone has an opinion, which frequently conflict with other's views.

  • @seba20sa Its called diversity :D If we all did and liked the same things it would be called "The Communist States of America."

    :D Theres your answer!

  • @seba20sa Everyone wants their opinion to be heard; they also want their opinion to be the only accepted opinion. Refer to the link on the right of the page to "There's Always an A-Hole on the Internet", basically it's the same thing going on in here. If you don't like it, I suggest disabling the comments.

  • @seba20sa

Nothing divided about everyone wanting what is best for people. Some people believe that we shouldn't use medications, some do.

  • @seba20sa that is so fucking true o.o

  • @seba20sa retard we are united in our right to express our own opinions =P among other things, of course

  • and thank you screech for your well thought out intelligent comment voicing your opinion.

  • with proper parenting patience and understanding to the individual learning needs of children we could avoid prescription of these effin happy pills. I was diagnosed with ADHD in first grade but my father refused to put me on Ritalin and I'm now 21 a volunteer firefighter and EMT not just some drone with a high school education that didn't get to truly experience my childhood. so I strongly believe this drug should be taken off the market and drug companies should not be raising peoples kids.

  • i was raised on Ritalin.... i have graduated college now looking for jobs. and thus far living a successful life

  • so you believe the medication is responsible for having a successful life not your parents or your upbringing huh?

  • no! it only allowed me to focus... but i have overcome the need for it now. though at times it can be tough. :(

  • Comment removed

  • CHECK IT OUT! im one of the %17 who was percribed ritalin improperly, well that is to be debated, i have tourettes... big whoopdieding..dosent mean smack on the pills.. just cause i have trouble paying attention dosent mean i cant learn. ritalin dosent teach you for the real world and may as well have killed my brain, thank god i stopped, im lucky im not fried in the head, key point: self control can easily be learned, get over yourself.

  • Ha

Everytime I go to a neurology clinic at a pediatric hospital to learn from the doctor assigned to teach me this is the thing I learn the most: To prescribe Riatlin.

Seriously, you see those annoying kids with their obsesive mothers wanting you to do something about it, because if you don't do it they might as well go to another doctor or even sue you, well, you really don't have much of a choice now, do you?

"What do we do?" the doctor asks. "Metilfenidate" I reply. And so it's done.

  • One of the most overprescribed drugs in existence. Pity. It makes it harder for the people who genuinely need it. Like me. Without it I'm an emotional fruitcake who can't stay focused on a boring task for fifteen minutes at a time. Cause I'm the Real McCoy, baby. ADHD, 21 years old, heavy. Luckily, however, I had parents that took six months to make sure I was properly diagnosed.

  • 20% of American children have been diagnosed with ADD/ADHD, about 3% actually have it. I took Ritalin for 3 months before deciding that having to discipline myself was way more fun than not sleeping.

  • dude without ritalin i'd've been so screwed for life

with it i got into a good high school then a good university

i have mild ADHD but once i didnt take my pills and had a big test for the end of high school and went to the library with my friends

they all were ready to kill me 20 minutes into studying

  • It does work for some people, I'm just not one of them. I managed to get into a really good high school without it.

  • Ability in advanced math often makes the difference between a 4 figure income and a 6 figure income.

Knowledge is power. The more you know the more power you have. Do you have knowledge?

  • Lucky for me, they don't give people ritalin where I'm from. If they did, I'm sure I would be on it when I was younger. xD

  • what the hell is going on here?!,Ç READ THIS: IT S JUST A FUCKING SONG, AND I DIDN`T COMPOSED IT, stop ussing the coment right to fight all the time please it is anoying ¬¬

  • watch this vid all the way to the end. dont judge this book by its cover. classic

  • so cool when it slows down

  • oh, or concerta!

  • I am against ritalin, but not medication. I don't think a kid should just sit with a vacant stare at you, but I do think they should be able to sit still long enough to learn what they need. I may get flamed and thumbs down'd for this, but medication in general isn't bad for kids. Not only will it help them learn in school, but they'll be more easily accepted into school with other kids, which is another very important part of schooling. In short, Ritalin = bad. Meds =/= bad.

  • Yep. Here's to Aderol.

  • 1. Do we really need to know how to find x in the equation x^2*3=75. Sure if we decide to take a job that needs that knowledge, but wait a minute I think something called collage teaches us that.

    2. When I was little I was given Ritalin, and you know what I was not "accepted" so there you go.

  • I was a Rit head, it wasn't 100% good but it stopped me ending up in jail or worse so there you go

  • x=5

You kind of need to be able to work out that, before you can go onto more advanced maths, which you might need in future life. If college teaches you that, then college is a total waste of time - you ought to learn how to figured that out from when you're eleven or twelve.

  • I know how to do it, I'm just saying is it useful in every day life? Do I need to know how to graph a 2 variable equation?

  • Well, graphing a variable equation has never come in handy ih my life, but it could in some.

Algebra and equations in general ARE useful, because you use them when calculating costs, and all sorts of things like that. You don't write out "(x*4) + 6 = 18" on paper, but in your head, that's what you do, and you know how to figure it out because you've had so much practise at school.

Then again, I suck at maths, so I'm not preaching... I just regret that, and I think I should've tried harder.

  • It's good to know all the things you can learn in 'collage'.

  • Tis' good indeed.

  • right on!

  • i refuse to take ritalin, and my mom didnt think i needed it evcven though the doc said i hav adult ad/hd!!!! thnx for not slippin me mickeys mom lololol whenever my thoughts get fragged, i have to let everyone know (like my boss and coworkers) that i cant be talked to, or ill lose my concentration. i just process thoughts differently than others, no need to drug yourself up to focus....

  • Woah, this song makes you think, eh?

  • "Ritalin, it's so much easier than parenting."

  • Q. Where are all the Michaelangelos and DaVincis of our time? A. Medicated!

  • i never thought about that, but your right, if they thought the same way everyone did, they wouldn't be the DaVinci, would they?

  • jooo
