  • AWESOME!!!!!! Alton!!! I live just off Segerstrom the next street north!!!! Since I'm "between jobs", I hear this train come and go every week-day from around 8am-9am!!! This is SO C-O-O-L!!!!!!!

  • VERY COOL!!!!! I live in the Costa Mesa/Santa Ana area near Bristol and MacArthur. Hope you post MORE from this area!!!!

  • nice P3!! That's my fave horn rite there!

  • Nice catch trains232. train232 if you want to see my video on youtube the title is upy in downey. btw nice catch. upy unit 639 passes in downey c@. ( :

  • This is cool! I love them shortlines through industrial areas. Do you know when i could catch this train at chesnut ave? I railfan there a lot.

  • Locals are fun to watch since there is lots of switching going on. Your video is also very good. I enjoyed it.

  • I would like to see more vids of local jobs too in orange county. Its best to tape the most you can before they take out service and eventually the tracks.

  • Do ya have more vids of the local?

  • yeah

  • I must see them!

  • why so important?

  • I want to see, lol.

  • Ball And what? Very nice video. I love trains and I used to follow them around when I was in my early twenties.

  • was that a GP38-2?

  • yes

  • Nice horn set on that lead unit-- did you notice the horns on the GP38-2 are mounted over on the right side of the cab instead of in the middle (must be 'cool' for the engineer, right on top of his head LoL!!). At least they have cleaned up that 639 engine-- I've seen pics of it before and it was extremely heavily tagged with graffiti... you can still see a few of the white graffiti remnants around the UP on the side in that last shot. Nice GENSET unit too!!

  • Old SP horn on an old SP engine that UP bought and re-painted.

  • Yep. Atleast there is a little bit of SP blood in her.

  • Yep

  • I remember when it was all tagged up, it looks better than what it used to look like

  • i think this is the train that goes by my house. yeah, the LOA32.

  • Very hard core. The UP train has an SP horn on it.

  • IT's probably an old SP unit.

  • That was my thought

  • the engine/car ratio is way out of whack, but not as bad as the la mirada local with 2 engines and 3 cars

  • It all depends on what BNSF has down for a high tonnage quota. The 2 Geeps that haul the La Mirada local are enough to haul the high tonnage quota for that train down the mainline.

  • That's what I was thinking...seems like a waste of fuel if you ask me.

  • Cool!

  • awesome video robert im staying nearby in newport beach
