  • Gheorghiu totally phoning it in here. Crooning, vacillating between total emotional disengagement and hammish overacting. There is almost no pathos in her singing. I feel as if she sings for herself and becomes so intoxicated with her own sound that she doesn't have much left to give to her colleagues or the audience. Moreover, you don't move an audience as a performer, you move them as a person. I don't feel like Angela, the person, is really ever there...

    Just my opinion. Far from a fact!

  • Beczala has the most suave and beautiful timbre among all the lyric tenors of our days. Gheorghiu has the most beautiful and suave timbre among all the lyric sopranos of our days. Do we need to explain anything more? :-)
