avp1 was to pg13 better story avp2 was R rated crappy story. For those of you who read the comics aliens vs predator they shouldve based the story off of that. Movie would have kicked ass.

Typical predator fan, while I love predators perhaps even a little more than aliens, the aliens should not be that weak! They only made the predators much more powerful because they thought the audience would never root for the aliens, these are fictional creatures so just because some stupid writers made the predators more powerful in past crossovers doesn't mean that it should be set in stone that they are more powerful!

In the first Alien movie, they said that the alien was about 7 to 8ft tall so there shouldn't that big of a height difference, but in AVPR, the aliens were like only 4 to 5ft tall! In the kitchen scene, the alien wasn't any taller than that woman! Yeah, while I love both creatures, I love the predator a bit more, because I find them more interesting and their universe is more expandable.
I do agree that the predators should been more powerful in this movie, but in AVPR, that was fucking ridiculous, like how the predator contantsly kills aliens AT CLOSE RANGE yet never gets a single drop of acid blood! Or how the aliens pretty much just let themselves get killed and never fight back! It's obvious the writers of AVPR were predators fanboys.

I was the most happiest kid in the world the day I watched the trailer for this film in theatres, having only a year before become a HUGE Aliens and Predator fan. Then I saw it and thought it was cool, but that the Predators looked way too unusually bulky. But nonetheless I loved the Celtic Predator helmet and still do, and plan to buy one someday, fitted with the inbuilt LED lights.
As for AVP2, sure the cast and plot sucked but we got a 1st look at an Elder, a Predalien & the Pred homeworld
if this did happen humans would probably go into hiding until we got advanced weapons and tech that is higher than the predators or the aliens and then we would just come out of nowhere and kill them all

It wasn't that bad a movie. Yes, the predators and aliens were cheap, humans teaming up with predators is illogical, etc.
But the film is indeed a excellent spin-off. Sequel/Prequel? No. But spin-off, it was beautifully done. The sequel however, destroyed any chance of the AVP series getting better then this movie, and unintentionally made it worse.

AVP was my third favourite ALIENS film after Ridley Scotts Alien 1979 and James Camerons ALIENS 1986 movies- no bullshit.
I think hiring Paul W S Anderson to direct was a good move at the time as he had a competent- box office success film career up to and including AVP 2005. Not to mention you couldn't make a serious film based on a "VS" idea.

@TaiXJ It's all explained and shown in the original alien films. Queen lays eggs, facehugger emerges from egg and "hugs" another creatures face, facehugger plants alien spawn inside victim via victim's mouth and subsequently falls off of face, sometime later, dead. The "baby" grows inside the victim until it's birthing time at which point it bursts out of their chest. Hope all is explained now :)
I loved this movie. I see it got compeltely panned on imdb, but I don't care. It's just so well done. I am not saying the plot was great or anything, but I loved watching it.

if this did happen humans would probably go into hiding until we got advanced weapons and tech that is higher than the predators or the aliens and then we would just come out of nowhere and kill them all

It wasn't that bad a movie. Yes, the predators and aliens were cheap, humans teaming up with predators is illogical, etc.
But the film is indeed a excellent spin-off. Sequel/Prequel? No. But spin-off, it was beautifully done. The sequel however, destroyed any chance of the AVP series getting better then this movie, and unintentionally made it worse.

1) The Wolf Predator (the first warrior predator we've seen so far)
2) the Predalien
3) The Predator homeworld
4) We found out who Yutani was

@goldenbird12345 Kind of... It's the same actor from previous Alien films and his name here is Charles Bishop Weyland, but I'm not exactly sure what the relevance (if any) is with him here. It doesn't explain if this is a prequel to Alien 3 or if Wayland's a distant relative or what... Personally, I think the movie's just another casualty directed by, Mr Mediocre himself, Paul W.S. Anderson who seemingly has no concept of story telling.

@TheLegendOfRandy The Bishop androids seen in Aliens & Alien 3 are effigies of this movie's Charles Bishop Weyland; founder of Weyland Industries, which will one day (by the upcoming Prometheus?) merge with the Yutani Corporation. Anderson has said it's a prequel to the Alien series and a sequel to the (pre-Predators) Predator series.

@18thOfThe9th1983 Prometheus has literally NOTHING to do with Predator. It's a spiritual prequel to Alien (the first one only). There will be no Xenomorphs in the film at all, instead it's going to focus on the space jockey from the first Alien movie.

AVP was my third favourite ALIENS film after Ridley Scotts Alien 1979 and James Camerons ALIENS 1986 movies- no bullshit.
I think hiring Paul W S Anderson to direct was a good move at the time as he had a competent- box office success film career up to and including AVP 2005. Not to mention you couldn't make a serious film based on a "VS" idea.

@camaxtle Just after the fantastic flashback scene, a facehugger jumps towards the unmasked Scar. The film cleverly doesn't reveal until the end whether or not it made it on to Scar's face.

@TaiXJ It's all explained and shown in the original alien films. Queen lays eggs, facehugger emerges from egg and "hugs" another creatures face, facehugger plants alien spawn inside victim via victim's mouth and subsequently falls off of face, sometime later, dead. The "baby" grows inside the victim until it's birthing time at which point it bursts out of their chest. Hope all is explained now :)
