@jeffbrent The Reflecmedia 8x8 kit shown is only $1500 and you save on the lights that would have been used to light the background, the bulbs, the electricity, the AC/ cooling, and the set-up time of having to evenly light. It actually winds up paying for itself when used often in production. Especially in small rooms where a traditional green screen would not be an option due to spill bouncing back onto the subject. There is no spill with Reflecmedia, so you save time in post too!
Using a DSLR for video production is going against convention but with the shallow depth of field and variety of lenses from Canon, this is a cheaper and practical alternative.
Canon 5D Mk2 beats any 30k video camera any time.
