well with red devil an midas they have been crossbred so much it could be a hybrid but i do know that a midas will have a larger hump an more robust an the red devil will be more stream line then the midas so my opinion is that is more midas then a red devil.

@GODLIKE20000 He said that the tank is 2 feet wide, which would be perfect width, but it really seems like that the tank is not wider than 16 inches.

These fish are monsters. They seem really cool but they will flat out kill any other fish you put in with them. Even much larger fish. They can also bite the crap out of you doing tank maintenance. Like draw blood bite. Very cool fish tho!

@arrow1a im sure if it is in a pet store they know what types the parents are and a midas cichlid just the off spring of a red devil their almost the same exact thing. in my opinion their not as aggressive and they usually more orange than anything, and sometimes get bigger bumps on their head

my midas has always been around other fish and even tho he is full grown he isnt to aggressive he just stays in his corner most of the time and doesnt let other fish around him really

A nice home would be a 55-100 gallon tank like the one he is in right now. (not saying that he isn't happy the way he is) I think Sherbert is an awesome Midas Cichlid who is very playful.

Yeah, I told them it was a "MIDAS" cichlid, but I think they just want to us "RED DEVIL" because your average joe thinks that a red devil would be bigger and meaner. plus it is a household name. Most don't know that "MIDAS" get larger. They had a tank of supposed "MIDAS" labled as "FLAMINGO" cichlids. lol. They have never gone by that name.

My new tiger oscar, Juno, will come to the front of the tank or follow me. The sign says "he likes to be teased" but damn, I would throw a fit if someone kept tapping on Juno's tank.

I don't think they meant it like that (the sign I mean). When they said 'he likes to be teased' I think they meant they want people to show him attention..he swam right over to the camera man. He sure is beautiful though, they should breed him, his babies would be beautiful.

On the sign it says "He likes to be teased"... these fish don't like to be teased. But the first thing people do when they see one is get it to chanse their finger. I think it's cruel trying to make a fish be aggressive. I never make mine chase my finger.
