When the new coach got there he said he was actually shocked with how low of an overall skill level the players were that he had to work with. God, that defense was terrible. Losses to Florida Atlantic, Miami of Ohio, not to mention this one. They gave up nearly 6000 yards that year. One of the worst defenses in history. 8th graders could have scored 50 on them.

The Bison basketball team was a decent mid major last year? The Bison were a 14 seed who deserved to get a higher seed. If the bison would have played a different team in the tournament, they would have gotten a lot further. The team that they had could have beaten many of the teams in the tournament. They had one of the best PGs in the nation and with Winklemann and Nelson around him, they had a very, very good team last year that, I think got screwed in the seeding.

Woodside is the best player on France's team. He went to the european all star game. The reason he didnt get drafted this year is because he went to NDSU. They get no national recognition from the press. I can almost guarantee that he will be in the NBA either next year or in '11. They (NDSU) wouldn't be the worst team in the big ten. They wouldn't be a threat to Ohio St. but they'd be reasonably competitive & could finish as high as 6th or 7th in the big ten, and thats with the players they have NOW, not in a few years. No NDSU would not have been a top 25 team. They would've ranked in between Minn and Northwestern. There are also plenty from rather small Minn towns, some from Bigger Minn towns and then some from out of the area. @awesomedls09 never said they were good or bad. just dont understand the senseless arrogance of ndsu. they havent done shit. i admitted the gophers sucked balls in 06-07. i think brew has done a great job with the minimal resources he has to work with. we are an average program, we arent good, we arent bad either. we will be very competitive w/everyone on our schedule.

@awesomedls09 we never had a recruiting class better than 48 with mason. minnesota hasnt been a solid team since 1967. we played in a horrible dome with no atmosphere. we havent had top 100 but a lot of top 150 and top 200 guys. something we have never had before. we can recruit in minnesota again something many thought would be impossible due to the bridges burnt by mason. honestly you like the postion ndsu is in at this current moment compared to where the gophers are? honestly?

God, that defense was terrible. Losses to Florida Atlantic, Miami of Ohio, not to mention this one. They gave up nearly 6000 yards that year. One of the worst defenses in history. 8th graders could have scored 50 on them.

Ah...the good old days. It seems like just yesterday that the Bison were goin 10-1 like it was nothin. But then 2007 graduation came along...Lost everything. Back in 2006 and 07 the Bison couldve competed in the Big 10. They should have been able to go to a bowl game in 2007. That was arguably one of the best teams they ever had. And yes they could have gone to a bowl game. Did you see the Central Michigan game? 44-14 Bison. Didn't Central Michigan win their conference? Didn't they go to a bowl game that year. Yes they did. And no they didnt barely beat the gophers. The score did not reflect the play. The Bison COMPLETELY outplayed the Gophers in that game

The Bison basketball team was a decent mid major last year? The Bison were a 14 seed who deserved to get a higher seed. If the bison would have played a different team in the tournament, they would have gotten a lot further. The team that they had could have beaten many of the teams in the tournament. They had one of the best PGs in the nation and with Winklemann and Nelson around him, they had a very, very good team last year that, I think got screwed in the seeding.

Woodside is the best player on France's team. He went to the european all star game. The reason he didnt get drafted this year is because he went to NDSU. They get no national recognition from the press. I can almost guarantee that he will be in the NBA either next year or in '11. He will get recognized over there and get invited to play somewhere in the NBA.

ALSO, Sherron Collins is arguably the best PGs in college today and will be a high pick in the draft. Ben Woodside completely outplayed him. Yes, I will admit that the Bison have a young, inexperienced team this year with three of the four starters being freshman with Jordan Aaberg, Nate Zastrow, and Mike Felt, but they have enormous potential. This is the exact same thing that happened when Woodside, Winklemann, and Nelson came to NDSU

haha...what ppl dont understand is if u gave NDSU a couple of years in D1A they'd compete; right now no theyd lose to a lot of big ten schools but once theyre D1A they can bring in better recruits. they beat CMU and UM w/ No Dak talent and d2 prospects imagine what the program could do with better recruits. They (NDSU) wouldn't be the worst team in the big ten. They wouldn't be a threat to Ohio St. but they'd be reasonably competitive & could finish as high as 6th or 7th in the big ten, and thats with the players they have NOW, not in a few years. There at LEAST as good as Minn. and about equal to Northwestern right now and they weren't even D1AA yet. They might finish low in big 10 but they'd get some wins every year there.

I have no idea about THIS particular year, maybe minnesota is having a great year for them, I wouldn't know I haven't seen NDSU Or Minn play this year. But last year and the year before they Were as good as minnesota, and that's when they were D2 for cripes sakes. I know Minn has a quite a bit better than average year this year though, and don't know about NDSU THIS year, but at times in the past they have been every bit as good as Minnesota. NDSU had been the USC of D2 for a LONG time.

No NDSU would not have been a top 25 team. They would've ranked in between Minn and Northwestern. Minn was ranked about 93 in D1 last yeat & Nwestern about 80 so NDSU would have realisticly been ranked about 80-85 in D1, & that ain't to bad for a D2 school I don't think. As far as "this years team & last years team" NDSU is almost ALWAYS dominant, VERY rarely do they have a year like this year. VERY RARELY. & Minn is almost NEVER dominant, & RARELY do THEY have a year like this year for them.

I'm from Wisconsin. There r SEVERAL kids on the NDSU team from small WI towns, some from towns with only 1200-1500 people.
