24 years playing drums and I can tell you this guy is good. Its not about pulling off triplets or drum fills, its about CHOPS, Daniel has em in spades and then some. There is a melodic style that flows with his snap rolls and drum fills that are tasty. He pulls em off and stays in tempo. His sense of timing is dead on and Daniel would probably be a great session drummer in the studio. Excellent work

Rosher, dude, ive been playing guitar for a good 5-6 years, and ive always played around with drums, but I have decent experiance at both, thier both very difficult instruments to master, and I doubt anyone will ever truly "master" either, but I would have to say that it would be a guitarist to do it first, a guitar has 6-12 strings and 22-24 frets for each string, drums hane no end, you can try different sizes, different symbols, drums are endless, i would say it takes longer to master drumming

Great fundamentals, flexibility, talent, ability to change time rythms and to syncopate them as well. But most of all, LOVE the way you got into it. No matter what you were playing, you were enjoying it and feeding off what you were creating, One of the many beautiful consequences music offers... i like the Latin grooves in there best. :-). Funny I detect a ton of soul, a ton of pocket, and its dripping with groove. But what would I know? I've only been playing for 20 years, so I'm still new to this drumming thing.
This drum-off finals only shows the best of the best. Those guys have studied really hard for 15, 20 years to get there. AND are REALLY talented as musicians. Being a musician is often a shitty job with no money and no recognition. These guys really deserve the prize for their hard work. I'm a (fair) drummer myself but nothing compared to this guy. I wish I had his skill but I don't have what it takes to study as hard as he probably did. So... it's fair! You rock man!

Funny I detect a ton of soul, a ton of pocket, and its dripping with groove. But what would I know? I've only been playing for 20 years, so I'm still new to this drumming thing.

This drum-off finals only shows the best of the best. Those guys have studied really hard for 15, 20 years to get there. AND are REALLY talented as musicians. Being a musician is often a shitty job with no money and no recognition. These guys really deserve the prize for their hard work. I'm a (fair) drummer myself but nothing compared to this guy. I wish I had his skill but I don't have what it takes to study as hard as he probably did. So... it's fair! You rock man!

not true actually the reason i ripped on alejandroV09 is because hes saying Daniel has no groove, which he really does. I'm just putting him in his place.

i have found when people say someone plays with no soul, its just a way for them to to feel better about how shitty they are because they can only play basic rock grooves so they say they play with "soul." Go fuck yourself

I know what you mean. Like, sure, solo drummers can play complex beats, but unless they can play well with a band, there's really no point.
