I want to fly wether it be for military or civilian but if military I want to fly bombers and cargo planes. I wear glasses can I still be a pilot?

im still in high school... i will try everything i have to become a fighter pilot.. my fathers last words were "The Airforce is the creme of the crop"  i know its going to be really hard to do it but, i want to be like all the other pilots who are serving our wonderful country. Thank you all for giving me the motivation to want to serve. :)

Navy has one main Fighter the F-18 ( The harrier went out of service and the F-35 hasn't came out yet) The airforce has F-15s, F-16's(as I fly), F22's. Soon to be F-35, A-10's, B1's,B2's Some F117's, UAV(Drones), Ac-130's, C-130's, C117's And much more . See you have much more types of Aircraft in the USAF then navy. Like I said its your choice. You want Navy go Navy. But trust me you would like AF more.

True, everybody has a passion for something and I think for me (and lots of people watching this video, otherwise they wouldn't be here) it is aviation. I would love to see a fighter roar above my head, I just love fighter jets in general. In the future I wish to move to the U.S and become a fighter pilot as the ones here (UK) aren't very good and I much prefer F-16s and F-22s. My friends also think I'm crazy, but I know that I have reached my passion and they haven't (yet).

@kingnetune117 agreed, I have the extreme passion for aviation as well. I'm more into the airlines but fighter jets always seem to take my breath away just as much as airliners do. If I ever happen to fly for the military I'd rather do something like cargo or transporting troops, etc. Just me but it's such a sweet career. Nothing better then it.

@coolyo366 he (ATBirdMan) is correct. kick the tires (kicking the tires in pre-flight to make sure they're fine) and light the fires (afterburners). I should know because some of my good friends are and were fighter pilots (one of em flew F-4s in Vietnam) and I'm a pilot as well. Many people use it as a fun way of saying they're taking off. We're pilots, I think we deserve to have a little fun even if its stupid to you ground dwellers.

In Singapore, we have in the Republic's airforce the F-5E/F Tiger II and the technologically advanced Block 52 F-16s, as well as the newest F-15SG Strike Eagle, some of which have had recently flown back from the States.

I've seen combat jets flying over many, many times. Whenever there're fighters about to streak across the sky, i would certainly not want to miss the chance of turning my eyes skywards. That's always a passion in my life.

everyone is born with an extreme passion. For me, that is aviation, specifically fighter aircraft. Its just like how some aviators would much rather fly airliners instead of fighters.

You cant understand someones feelings toward their extreme passion unless you share the same passion.

Whenever I see a jet fly overhead, I look up no matter what. My friends think im crazy, but then I just think about how I have found my passion and they havent.

And Now I am in the Marines in Oki and the approach to Kadena goes right over my shop. Every time a jet flies over I HAVE to look. My friends say the same thing, "Dude, you grew up around jets, you should be used to them by now." Never was and never will be.

Not true at all. I have been doing a ton of research into this. It really depends on your luck. Some years they need fighter pilots, some years they dont. You are more likely to fly a heavy than a UAV.

@CalvinV7 I am a real F-16 pilot. Im not telling you what to do because its your choice. I love the Navy, Trust me I me i met a lot of F-18's in the air. And some of my good friends went to the Navy after college. But my point is I would go with Air Force aviation. It would be much better and easier. Just think, everytime you land on a carrier you get graded for it. And Imagine landing on a carrier on a rainy, Stormy, Night. It would suck!. Navy pilots are crazy!! But the USAF.
