clean hit........no way unless your idea of a clean hit is targeting the head, had he hit the body then its all good, and as for, 'he should be looking' oh yeah he's going to be looking behind him isn't he......he did the crime I'm afraid and its not necessary as at least in the NA you're allowed to hit
clean hit 100%. unfortunate that it happened but you're in the NHL... dot admire your pass cutting across the blue line. Booth should have watched more Rock em Sock em
@pens63 yeah kinda like that matt cook hit, only that pussy wouldnt even fight afterwards. Thats whats wrong with the instagater penalty. Somebody delivers a hit like this and they either stand up for themselves or they get their ass kicked. Fighting helps eliminate dangerous hits and should never be taken out of the game
And pleaaaase, spear me the ''clean hit'' thing. The guy is out unconscious, got a commotion, might never be able to play again. Come on, wake up people!! This is NOT hockey! Clean hit??!! Are you going to wait until somebody actually dies on the ice to finally say...euh, well, maybe we should do something about it...Come on.
an elbow to the head is dirty but you must have been watching another video. watch it again. dont have to be from philly to see that his elbow was down and his shoulder hit his head. the broadstreet bullies werent the first guys to play like that. guys like gordie howe and eddie shore did it before the flyers ever did. they never almost destroyed the nhl. u act like it was like mcsorly's two-hander to the head of brashear. u want hockey without the checks just watch the all-star game.
No I think you are wrong. It's not the fact that it's the elbow or the shoulder or anything else for that matter. It's the fact that the hits to the head should not be part of hockey. Simple. Would it be the elbow or not. The one player that hits is also responsable for what is happening on the ice. You act as the only responsible is the victim! Can't believe what I am reading here. The NFL for example has a rule for protecting players from hits to the head. Why not the NHL?
So you are saying that when a player puts up his elbow in the face of another player it,s a clean hit??!! Well, maybe for someone from Philadelphia who dreams of going back to the broad street bullies and that ugly hockey who almost destroyed the nhl. But I prefer what the habs and after that Edmonton and after that Detroit had to offer. Real hockey. Rough but not trying to murder somebody on the ice.
you must be blind it was all shoulder. you're obviously not man enough to watch hockey you're one of the people ruining the game for us all. hockey is a game of skill and strength coming together in one. if i didn't want to see hits i'd watch figure skating with the rest of the fags
You are the blind one. You are telling me you don't see the head suddenly jerking backwards? I would suggest you get some eyeglasses and fast. As for ruining the game for all of us, you are the one doing it. You seem to love to see guys almost get murdered on the ice. You have to be one of those blind Flyers fan who crave on blood on the ice. I suppose you even prefer the good old Dave Schultz style over what Detroit or Edmonton showed us all those years. Berk...
so what if his head jerks back? any time the direction of force and momentum change there will be redirection on the lesser object. as far as craving blood on the ice, i suppose they should wear roller skates instead because of guys like zednik and cleary getting cut up on the neck? shit happens its a rough sport. this is the way its been forever now times have changed quit living in the past. like at ovechkin hes is both skilled and an example of brute strength at times
Ah come on. Don't compare that to the Zednik and Cleary incidents. These were complete accidents. One guy falling and the other one receiving his skates in the neck. Different. Richard was looking to hit Booth. And he was looking to hit him as hard as he could. He didn't control his hit. He is responsible for controlling his hit. Think of this, if they get a high sticking penalty even if it's a complete unintentional move. The guy that goes for a hit should certainly get suspended.
Actually, half of the time, the one that gets hit with the stick was the one who lifted the other players stick right in his own face while trying to protect the puck for example. So it's completely unintentional from the other player but he gets the penalty anyway. Now here, we have a clear intention of hitting, going for it and bang putting the guy out unconscious. This is suspension...without any doubt. And certainly not a clean hit!!
well they have rules for hitting to protect players such as crosschecking, boarding, and what should have been called charging. it would have been different if richards had come from behind i forget the incident but one guy hit another player from behind and actually got assualt charges pressed against him. its really all about the situation. richards was playing the puck and yes the puck because it only left booths stick a fraction of a second before the smackdown
Welcome to the NHL dude. Rule one as every peewee coach tells his players " skate with your head up or you will lose it" . Kids listen to your coach, or you end up like this sorry one!
