  • i have the same engine in my 1967 mustang coupe

  • The stock 200ci I-6 had about 100 horsepower...about as much as a econobox today. It will not be fast...at all. It was designed to be the casual cruiser for someone who just HAD to have a Mustang.

The 3.50 rear axle is really nice on the highway. The T-5 transmission's 5th gear is about .67 or .68:1, so the 5th gear cruising speed makes the engine just lope along. Honestly, if I'm hammering it, I don't leave 4th gear - it's about 1:1.

  • Hey guys I just wanted to know one thing. I'm about to buy a 1967 Mustang coupe with a 6 cylinder/3 speed manual transmission. Is it fast at all? How much horsepower?

  • Bet you the 350 rear end hauls down the freeway

  • where can you get a mustang hood for a 67/68 that has the 2 nobs to hold your hod down rather than the latch??? please help!!

  • Your Mustang is so nice sir. I've always loved the way the 1967 and 1968 coupes looked.

  • To answer a few questions that have come in the past few months - the restoration cost a multiple of what the car is worth. Think of the show "Overhaulin'" - imagine how much one of those car costs - just using the amount you'd have to pay all the people who do the work. I didn't do the work, but I enjoy the car immensely. I don't recommend restoration unless you have TONS of time and/or money. Thanks for watching - I really appreciate all the comments.

  • Nice car! I've got a tame little 66 coupe. Really, I was shooting for a 67 fastback, but you take what you can get, right?

Anyway, has anyone ever told you that you sound like Dan Aykroyd?

  • me and my dad are restoring a 3 speed 289 67 mostly by ourselfs, any tips?

  • Beautiful car! I'm restoring a '66 Mustang, only an inline six though.

  • same as my dads exept his is 289 3speed with ORIGINAL hubcaps

  • how much did restoring it cost?

  • nicely done, me and my dad were working on a '66 but ran out of money and had to sell it

  • how high have you reved it? some one commented on my vid saying that it revs to like 10k, i rev mine pretty high but never even tried to guess the rpms, nice gauges, i would like to have the same kind and the same tranny switch, i also have auto 3(c4) and want to put a manual t5 in it

  • I don't think I've taken it over 7k. A Ford small block has to be blueprinted and balanced by a racing expert to hit 10k revs. My engine won't do it, I can guarantee that!

It's a rare car that'll top 10k!!! I call BS on your commenter! LOL!

  • Sweet ride! I'll be starting on mine in a month or two.

  • How much did Glazier charge you for the total restoration ? They're not too far from me, and if I ever get an old Stang like I'm looking for, they might be my best bet...

  • I think most complete restorations now cost close to 6 figures, if not a bit over. Hope that helps.

  • Thanks for all the comments. Just to reiterate, the car was professionally restored, I did not do the work. The parts replaced on the car can be found in any Mustang restoration catalog. The brake booster, exhaust, etc., all came out of standard Mustang parts catalogs. The headers came from Stan's Headers in WA, the gauges are Autometer, but set up by JME.

I'm sure there are other details I've forgotten, but it's been 8 years since the car was handed over to the shop for its restoration.

  • what exhaust or mufflers are on the car?

  • Did a background check on my 67 mustang and it was also made in the NJ plant. It made it all the way down here to arizona. Despite the lose of the floorboards

  • did you put in the brake booster in by yourself?if so how much did that cost you?

  • nice i have a 67 im about to restore with in the next few weeks

  • hey great vid and a lot of interesting facts!

    Sweet car to man.

  • ive got a 67 coupe that i LOVE although it needs to be restored...just no money to do it....o well its still fun to drive on the weekends

  • I might buy one of these to restore-sweet vid!!!

  • Nice Vid! The reason behind not showing your license is because some scum bags will look your address up at the DMV and drive to your house to help themselves to all the wonderful restoration parts you have or just steal the whole car. They are also known to follow you around for a few days before doing so.

  • Thanks for the compliments, everyone!

If anyone has any more questions, feel free to send me a message here! Thanks - Tom

  • I have a 1967 coupe getting completly redone with a few upgrades it origanlly hade an inline 6 im putting a 4.7 L/ 289 in it...my car has the same hood and all they look the same except my car is going to be candy red...every thing else is all original

  • Detailed video and cool bit of history behind it. Congrats on the great work.
