A scam I have seen around the country is the road work zone scam. This is where they set up the barriers like road work is going on and they also put the signs up along with the sign that 'Fines are doubled in the work zone". The problem is, is that no work is going on, nor is that section of road scheduled to have work done and the highway department has now idea that the signs or barriers are up.
