@3volv I dont think its 45's. I think they are 25's bumper plates. Look at the bars reaction when she unracks and at the bottom and top of the lift. It bounces a little but with her body, it doesnt bend. Its almost unphased, but Idk its a tough one to tell. I dont doubt her though.
You f@#ken morons. Stop admiring her for her looks and appreciate that she is an accomplished and skilled Weightlifter (Weightlifter as in the sport...not the activity). Do you think she doesn't know she's attractive? Duh. Of course she does. Therefore, say something other than her good looks as I'm sure she has heard that 1million times. Great lifting. Only thing I would suggest...lift everyday if you can. Eliminate other forms of training.
Okay, how can those guys listen to some dude droning on about kettle bells when SHE is standing back there. The only thing that would keep me from turning around and watching her is blatant homosexuality.
Awesome pics. Great size. Look thick. Solid. Tight. Keep us all posted on your continued progress with any new progress pics or vid clips. Show us what you got girl. Wanna see how freakin' huge, solid, thick and tight you can get. Thanks for the motivation.
I notice that you go down really low on your squats. I was told not to go lower than "90 degrees." Why do you go lower? Won't that damage something in the long run?
Late in your squat sets you're losing your lordotic curve. You're going plenty deep but that curvature change in your spine's going to throw compression forces posteriorly through your IVDs. It's nothing that terrible from what you show here and only affects you as fatigue starts setting in, but I'd keep it in mind as you up the weight.
@ k0mman0c0z are you serious? Bang the bar off your hips? Do you know anything about Oly lifting!?!? Once that bar gets away from you say goodbye to a good lift. Read a book Bruh
your sex in those nike romelos :).... you need to bang the bar off your hips though on the snatch other wise your gonna lose a helluva alot of it. I would recommend using just the bar and starting from the second pull and just focus on hitting the crease of your hips(where your belt buckle would be). You will get more weight if you master it.
my coach made me buy local anaesthetic to spray before snatching, otherwise its too tender and i bitch out and dont hit with force. anyway what i meant to say is ,I agree
Hips look great! Bar and hips were rising together nicely. Do you look up on purpose? Unless it's something that specifically works for you, I'd probably cue you to look more straight ahead or even down a bit like you do when you set up. The neck is part of the midline so if it's broken (looking up) then the midline isn't in it's best set up. I feel a break in my lower back if I break at the neck. Could just be me though. Just my $.02. Anyway, great looking lifts!
@CrossFitDominion Shes probably looking up so that it want cause her to tip over or lean forward.... a lot of people do this when squatting(some what helps them stay straight)
@ramaj789 I don't think that's it. She's looking down when she sets up then looks up just before the lift. With Allison's experience lifting I doubt she feels off balance. I'd make a sexist comment about her being used to having to counter gravity's forward pull on her but with her equally perfectly endowed 'posterior chain' it's not really true and would be wrong of me :)
your form is the best i've seen, and I am an elite amateur athlete (in the sport of rugby) so I'm no stranger to good lifters. I try to squat as deep as you do, but I find at the bottom of my squat I cannot maintain full thoracic extension and my chest dips slightly (this happens with no weight at all and I am quite glute dominant so I think it is a flexibility thing). Do you have any suggestions on how I can eliminate this?
Should you go that low on your squats? i thought ( and i know nothing about lifting) that you shouldnt go beyond the 45º angle. because if the "butt" goes lower than that, you have to beat "innercia" (is that the correct spelling? ) in order to rise up to the standing position.
@brunobillabongo You always have to overcome inertia if you're going to change direction. The lower you go, the more of a compound exercise it is and the better it is for overall functional strength work. Much harder to maintain good form (most people will have to do a lot of mobility training before they can hit arse-to-grass), though, which is why the risk of injury is perceived as being higher. It's not a squat unless you go to parallel, though- 45 degrees is barely moving!
@rad2tm hmmm you are right, anyways i said 45, but i was thinking 90 (or parallel to the ground, as you said) i say this because .. well i have seen lots of stuff from other sports and most info says that if you go that low, it could be harmfull for your knees and there is no real advantage in speed or strength increase by doing that. but... maybe i have been reading the wrong stuff =) thx for answering
I found that using lots of lifts from the hang below the knee/mid shin works really well for keeping chest up and butt down during the pull. When your hips rise too fast, part of it is technique, but also sometimes your p-chain is much stronger than your upper back and rhomboids, which assist in stabilizing you into the chest up/butt down position.
