If all the Democratic caucuses and primaries had been winner-take-all, then Clinton would now have 1,743 pledged delegates to Obama's 1,257.
Why does this matter? Most states are winner take all in the general election. McCain leads Obama by 20 points in Florida and leads slightly in New York. Clinton leads McCain in both states in most polls. Without FL and NY, how can a Democrat win in November?
