Is there a name for the kind of animation happening here? With the cut outs popping up and everything? I've looked for what it's called and I just can't find it. Any body know?
I was only a small child born Jan 1939 but I remember the silence in the room when ITMA was broadcaste.The going from room to room by Tommy and meeting the well known characters all with their own catchphrases was the work of a genius.Nobody has captured the use of imagination quite like him,the nearest I suppose was Tony Hancock .
How time kills reputations: I remember in 1944 walkking through a town in England; it was summer, the windows were open, and from EVERY ONE came the sound of ITMA on the radios. No comedian since has built such an audience.
