I have DiGeorge and only found out after I was pregnant with my son. After learning that it could be 50/50 chance, I decided not to put a child's life at risk again. I think it is a cruel thing, to make another child sick because you want a baby.
I have had 2 heart surgeries, but I was told they were isolated incidents and not genetic.
Later on, I am dealing with severe calcium problems.
Hi i am from the uk...my 10 year old son is being tested for this, i have never heard of this Geroge Syndrome and would like more info. The things i have being looking at seem vage. Please help confused mum :(
i have digeorge syndrom im now 32 and my 2 sons have it 2 1 got a peacmaker in now the other a pigs hart have had over 30hart ops between them now 10 and 12 in 2007 my youngest got a pigs hart in only child in briton to have it meet prince harry and he won the bravest boy in briton in 2007 for getin his pigs hart hes doing fine now thanks to yorkhill sick kids
@mambolsster How could you have kids and put them at risk? I lost a son from DiGeorge and protect myself not to get pregnant again. How could you do this? This baffles me.
Don't you know that it's 50/50 percent chance that they will get it?
But may I also say that Di george Syndrome also can effect your thyrods either working fully or not and also hypocalciumia where your body doesn't know how to stableise the calcuim which then to controlled by Caltrate which is a Vit C and Rocatrol which is a Vit D.........

Do you use oxygen? I do. I am 25 yr old had this problem as infant also got the calcium problem.
