Sad to think that this drug that can prevent the growth of cancerous tumors and treat leprosy, and yet it has devastated the lives of these people. The drug prevents blood vessel growth in the womb when the baby is an embryo, which doesn't allow limbs to grow properly.

Apparently some cases are still popping up in South America. I think thalidomide should be strictly regulated and never, ever be accessible to pregnant mothers.

Besides all the sick jokes and nay sayers -this drug thalidomide caused deformities in babies. President Kennedy banned all drugs (that includes vaccines) to be given to pregnant mothers in the 1960's for a reason. Barack Obama reversed that ban in 2009 with the swine flu vaccines. All for profits for the drug companies. No drugs or vaccines should be given to pregnant mothers at any time including the regular flu shot which now contains the H1N1 vaccine in 2010. Take it at your own risk.
