Hmm, here's my rev,

The first two were alright I just couldn't stand the vocals, I have the next two which are in fact very good. the next one was just like the first two, then epiclore was pretty good, I don't like amberian dawn because it seems like the same old generic operatic metal that is everywhere in europe same with ebony ark.

But dude if you like underground bands like me then I'd definitely recommend todesbonden, Aesma Daeva, Aztra, Foreshadowing, Macbeth, Penumbra, and Urn.

Symphonic Metal is the best combanation in music ever and will probably become very, I mean very popular in a 10-30 years as it is growing in number of bands and musicians. :D

i agree, it's very epic and powerful

there are some people who don't like it, b/c the guitar doesn't have as big a role as some of the other instruments, but it is one of the greatest styles of metal (in my opinion) out there.

It is one of the greatest style in the whole musical scene, not only in metal.

And I have to disagree with you a bit about the role of guitar. Guitar has a large role for example in the band Kamelot (Symphonic Power Metal) and also the bass has a very large role for metal.

Basically, it wouldn't really be Symphonic 'Metal' without the Guitar, Bass and Drums.

I myself am a guitar player and I feel that guitar and bass have a very valueble role in the music genre.

Agreed wholeheartedly...for probably 2-3 years, I was searching for this sound without knowing what it was. I mean, it isn't "perfect"...but it's pretty damn close at least some of the time. Like you said, I think it could really start to come out in the 2010-2020 decades. I sure hope it does =).

Since around 1990 (I think this started with bands like Nightwish and a few others) this has grown widely and many bands in the musical style become very popular. But as it is now I think the style is only recently becomeing very popular and will grow even arger with fans and new bands in the next year.

So I await seeing more bands in this amazing musical genre :)

I think Therion generally takes a lot of credit for starting off symphonic metal. Whether they did or not I don't know.
