LP making - Use FRAPS, Camtasia recorder, Hypercam or PlayClaw to record the gameplay, set up stereo mix (which is basically every sound ins and outs combined into one sound channel, which can be then recorded using the programs above and so enable game sounds+commentary), then use Movie Maker, Sony Vegas Pro studio (my favorite), Pinnacle or any other video editing program to finalize the episodes into small, yet HD quality video files. Also you all can use DosBox integrated video recorder to record, but I haven't found a way for it to record stereo mix feature, nor is it possible to combine audio file with commentary and the video from the integrated recorder, since it does deform the time, as it usually doesn't record lags and so the timing is completely off.
DosBox can be configured to make the graphics card render the display of DosB, and so FRAPS can record in it anything (otherwise it works forsomegamesonly)
