  • @taylorguestin: Beautiful movie! I love this Concerto! Do you have the score for me?! Woulde be GREAT! Thanks!!!!

  • Phantastico!!! Great playing and interprtation of the concert. 5*

  • :D *high five* awesome piano skills xD sheets please?

  • This is soooo great and to know that you transcriped it yourselfe makes it even more amazing. I stil laugh my b*tt of every time I see your recording of the third part. It is so wonderfully insane.

Why isnt there a piece for flute and piano by our beloved Philip Glass? How I would love to take it up on my repertoire. If someone here knows of a piece for flute and piano that I might have missed. Please DO post me a message and I will be forever greatful.

  • Hate to say it, but the first few times one hears the music of Phillip Glass, it's like "Whoa!!!! Where has this stuff been all my life???". However, by the 15 or 20th time around, that sentiment is often replaced by "Yikes!!! How many times times do i have to listen to this same chordal and rhythmic progression?? Didn't he ever write more than one piece over and over and over and over again???" I know "minimalism" is highly repetitive by nature, but really.......

  • @HolyMotherofGrid yeah i know... :( but perhaps that's the time to explore more classical music(or maybe you already like it idk), i havent yet reached that stage.

  • @HolyMotherofGrid Haha, that's how I felt when I first heard this concerto: "Oh, okay. So it's going to be the same riffs he constantly uses but for solo violin this time." I don't know how, but I got over it and I just enjoy it now. There are a few little things unique to this concerto alone, but I no longer have to hang on those to enjoy it. I wonder what Glass himself has to say about it, or doesn't he? I hope it's not just 'if you don't like it, listen to something else'.

  • @LazyTranslator I will not deny that there ARE many "little things" which set Mr. Glass's works apart, but for me, that's just not enough. I get bored in the first 2 bars of this piece, which sounds SO much like many of his other works that i just can't enjoy it. For me, each work or "cycle" of works should be more or less unique, with fresh sets of ideas each time. A BIT of recycling can be made to work, but Glass's works are often 70 to 80% previously used material - NOT interesting to me!

  • You are amazing! You are honey to my ears.

  • can you please tell me, I hardly speak any french, but did you take the violin/piano transcription and just play the violin part on the piano? Je ne parle le francois. Merci beaucoup

  • hi RaRaLandEQ, in fact, i made the transcription for piano solo by hear, using the orchestra and violin recording, if you want the sheets, ask me ;)

  • @taylorguestin I translated "demandez la partition si jamais" as being, "never ask me for partition",

but I'm happy to see i was wrong and should just use google translate or something next time :)

  • =) Send me your mail in a M.P. and i'll send you that, if ever you want ! have a nice day !

  • @taylorguestin : I did already. You didn't get it?

  • @taylorguestin Salut, j'aime beaucoup Philip Glass, et particulièrement ce morceau. Pourrais-je avoir cette partition que tu as retranscrite ? Ce serait super =)

  • Superb! This translates even better than I would have expected. Great job, man!

  • rushing towards the end.

  • no dynamics rushed. but besides that I still liked it

  • les dynamiques sont tres incraibles tôt dans la piece.

  • That is fantastic - thanks for posting, much enjoyed!

  • bravo!

  • That's fantastic. I love how you don't leave out any neuances of the piece. The deeper you go the better and more authentic it gets. Well done :) !
