  • Tonight I received emails deriding a bunch of statements on my Youtube channel; they were made last night, and involved a video of a DC-6. I DID NOT make those comments! My password has been changed. I know who did this, and I am contacting law enforcement.

  • So they lost there number 1 reverser?

  • XBoeingCapt....I'm permanently in "work-avoidance" mode. Thanx!

  • that was great; if that's all they had on the schedule I'd bid ferry flights all the time....then to the hotel and done....nice job, somedays I miss flying the old whale.

  • who was the FME? i see that dmi sticker on the Autopilot.

  • nice landing

  • did you use the TEB VOR? i see planes flying into newark everyday turning over teterboro

  • God that that looks so fun!!! Its also funny seeing a capt wearing a tee-shirt landing a 747.

  • @MRMODAMIA1 Keeps the uniform shirt clean. T shirt is worn only in when in the airplane.

  • wow cool have never seen 747-200 with monitor screens I just think the INS and old instruments is so hard to understand ;P really nice vid:D

  • You ever get a chance to fly a 744?

  • Was there something wrong with #1 engine? I noticed it didnt go to reverse...

  • thanks alot for the view!!

  • Glad you liked it! The mechanic holding the camera behind my head made my landing look horrible. It was about "average" this time! The airplane was empty, and landing this airplane empty is totally different from landing it fully loaded. At least that is my excuse and I'm sticking to it!

  • yes sir i share on my facebook........

  • My one regret was not going to flight school, but I don't think I would ended up in a heavy for a long time.

  • cool video!!

  • hey man, just ignore those stupid coments, thanks for sharing your experience with us... have safe flights..

  • What's the fun if you can't share it? You can thank the mechanic that was sitting over my left shoulder for the video. He did a GREAT job!

My parents watched this video, along with the "JFK Takeoff" thing, and they were both nearly in tears.

  • great shot, thank him for me, im jelaous lol... happy flights...

  • Thanks for the video :)

  • Connie hauling the mail...

  • it's kalitta.

  • Kalitta Air?

  • I don't hate newark, i dislike the airport form bad experiences you don't have to get so defensive.

  • augh i hate newark

  • so what who cares what you hate, its easy for you to write this here on youtube but go to newark and say it to someone face bet you wont do that, you talk here cause you know no one can get you.

  • What's up your ass, so what if he hates it, it's not a big deal.

  • i was on a 747 when i went to europe(:

  • dude, thats 747-300, you can see a computer monitors

  • Nope. It is a -200 with a CMC-900 FMS system.

  • oh, sorry , it hought that all of the -200s had the old thing, what do you call it?

  • analog?

  • Dude...I was flying the thing! It is N713CK, a Boeing 747-200. I'll repeat: It is equipped with a Canadian Marconi CMC-900 FMS system, installed in order to comply with the RVSM requirements instituted in 2005. ALL of Kallita's planes have this modification.

  • i was talking about the electoric devices. i thought that -200 didnt have these, but now you corrected me. happy?

  • dude how do u know how to get in line in newark especially cuz there is always a line of aircraft landing??? how do u know at how many degrees u extend the flaps??? how do u use the ILS when landing??? how does the control tower guide u???

  • I'm a was a pilot for continental airlines. usually, I had flew a 757 when I had to land. I would set my flaps at 10 and stay under 100 knots. The tower is above all of the terminals. and it can see all aircraft that are active on a radar. Then if you just landed, ground will guide you to the gate.

  • thanks, i want to be a pilot one day, what should i do??? go in the air force and sign a 8-year contract or go to a regional airline for training???

  • well, that's up to you on what you feel like doing. I was in the air force for 4 years. Then I got my job with continental.

  • but wait how long is the contract for the air force??? and does being the military help it in ur resumee to become an airline pilot???

  • It shows that you are cabable of flying a commercial aircraft with more training. I was in the air force for 3 years. I was discharged in 1999 because I had accidently shot down an enemy plane without premission.

  • holy crap u serious??? from what country???

  • usaf

  • i mean the enemy aircraft i meant

  • I shot down a F-15J Eagle. I was flying a A-10 Worthog

  • your full of shit ;)

  • ok, if you stay under 100 knots with a 757, you will stall

  • with almost every jet aircraft you will stall under 100 Knots ;)

  • in this aircraft you set flaps 10 @ 7 mile final

  • First off the flaps are all acording to the speed not when you are on final

  • No you set them according to your airspeed!

  • first off, flaps 10 is a flap setting for departure. Second off, below 100 Knots you will stall.. you could be weightless and you would stall. On very low fuel you could land at about 127Knots, thats where VREF would put you if your flaps were @ at 30 (correct me if Im wrong, does 757 have flaps 30? Im a 737NG guy)

  • Yes, a 757 does have flaps 30

  • Landing with 30 flaps is against company policy at CKS, is it not?

  • No, it wasn't when I flew that landing.

I've been away from Kalitta Air for 15 months, so they may have changed their policy. Flaps 30 is something that you do when you are heavy, in order to meet the performance computations. It allows a lower landing speed, which saves the brake pads. I tried to do it whenever I could, since it also reduced runway rollout.

  • If you would have had to make a go around at 30 flaps and very light weight, you would have had your hands full with the resultant pitch up unless you used something less than go around thrust. To get a nice landing out of an empty weight 30 flap landing is also pretty difficult. Notice the shaking and shuddering in the video when you touched down. Why do it if not absolutely necessary?

  • The Captain [me] is not wearing a uniform because I did not want to get a perfectly good uniform shirt dirty in that filthy cockpit.

It is not uncommon to wear just a t-shirt in freighter aircraft. We are sometimes away from home/washing machine for weeks at a time, so it saves laundry. We always wear them going to and from the plane however.

  • kool man... look i wanna go in the air force... but wat kinda training did u get to become a pilot??? nd where did u come from in this aircraft??? r u from the newark/elizabeth area???

  • I'm from Florida, Orlando to be exact.

I'd recommend you stay away from the US Air Force. You will need to spend 9 years there before they will let you join an airline, and airlines are ALL ABOUT seniority! The guy hired first has the best advantage, and this totally controls your lifestyle. You are better off getting your ratings and flight instructing for a few months. The airlines are hiring flight instructors right now, because they can't get more experienced people!

  • that would be a blessing to be the pilot of a kalitta 747 and wear regular clothes lol... they r wearing regular clothes not captain uniforms

  • why is the captain not wearing uniform.

  • Cause is probably a Kalitta Freighter out of Newark..Who else would fly -200 out of Newark?

  • nice view!

  • I think CRM is one of the most beautifulest traits of a Pilot.

  • Why dosnt it have number reverse

  • Sorry number 1 reverse on landing

  • The reverser on that engine was inoperative [fairly common]. In such a situation, you are allowed to bring the engine on the opposite wing into reverse, but not advance the throttle.

  • Oh ok, thanks for the reply

  • Cool ! It's always fun to watch the action from behind

the pilot's view; or up front. 747-200 has many panels

and switches to press, lol. Keeps the 3 member crew at

    the ready.

  • Sweet. Make more lol..Thanks

  • Wow, great video. I love the auto callouts on altitude and minimum. Thanks for putting it up.
