yo, check out the bridge in a song called "my friends the strangers- king records 1954 the jive five uses this bridge to end "these golden rings" pretty cool stuff !!!
Oh, God......If there were a separate Doo-Wop Hall Hall of Fame, Eugene Pitt and the Jive Five would deserve a separate room right at the top, no offense to Harvey Fuqua and the Moonglows, Tony Wiliams of the Platters, or Pooky Hudson of the Spaniels, etc.. I have a chance to see Eugene Pitt and the Jive Five next weekend perform. It's unbelievable that these guys sound as good today as they did back in 1959/60.
@spinner45rpm Oh I agree, put the Nutmegs in there too. Both groups so special, so different from the other, also very wonderful, vocal groups. Both have a very distinctive sound, that sets them apart from the others.
This group made so many great records, and this definitely is one of them. Made Billboard's R&B charts (#27)in 1962, on the Beltone label. Never can get tired of listening to Eugene Pitt & the Jive 5!
PERFECT!!!!!
