But the big kicker is that YOU can also sin against God/Holy Spirit and thus be disqualified from redemption. How can one say you love freely when there is no other option. Our love for God is shown when we choose him over Satan. The serphant in the garden gave Adam and Eve the choice to choose God or satan. With out that choice their was no free will. God did not "set up" Adam and Eve, He gave them free will. There was no talking snake. There wasn't an Eden. I also agree with the video, in that god (small 'g'), if he existed (for which you have no proof), being all knowing, would have deliberately created a satan, sent him to earth, known that eve would eat from the tree of knowledge (vilifying knowledge? Interesting) and thus deliberately created an imperfect world.

Eve didn't know what was good or evil (some would say "but god told them not to eat it", but how would she know that following his command was the good thing to do?) as that was how god made her and the snake did nothing but ask a question and correct a falsehood.
@KT45 It was kind of. I read the story. And as far as I can tell, that fruit is the "fruit of knowledge of good and evil". So that fruit was actually containing what was right and wrong, and when they ate the fruit, they disobeyed god. It seems that god did not want them to know anything, and only seek his guidance, so he cursed them. That does not sound like a caring god to me though. That just sound like some pompous king that does not want anyone to be his equal.
@KT45 Furthermore, I was taught by a Hebrew Scholar (at college). He explained that the "snake" was actually a play on the words in Eve's name. In Hebrew, Eve's name is a combination of snake and woman, so there is indication that the "snake" was really her questioning herself on whether she should stop being a blind fool and actually gain knowledge, or listen to that god.

Actually in revelation Satan is chained up and cast into an abyss and later he is released the verse says Rev20:7 A when a thousand years are expired satan shall be loosed out of his prison. It isn't based on it. The perversions of other religions are based on the Hebrew system. Evil is a serious thing to God and unlike pagan systems, the Hebrew system had a reason. @NathanH83 Well 1 John 3:8 says "the devil has been sinning since the beginning" which seems to imply that is was happening when "god created the heavens and the earth" However if you accept that Lucifer=King of Tyrus=Satan then in Ezk 28:15 He was created perfect. I think you're missing the point that Adam and Eve didn't actually exist.... at all.
There was no talking snake. There wasn't an Eden. I also agree with the video, in that god (small 'g'), if he existed (for which you have no proof), being all knowing, would have deliberately created a satan, sent him to earth, known that eve would eat from the tree of knowledge (vilifying knowledge? Interesting) and thus deliberately created an imperfect world.
This would mean that god is a sadist.

The snake didn't lie.
God did.
I've checked.
Eve didn't know what was good or evil (some would say "but god told them not to eat it", but how would she know that following his command was the good thing to do?) as that was how god made her and the snake did nothing but ask a question and correct a falsehood.
Thus the only one responsible is god.
No one else.

@KT45 It was kind of. I read the story. And as far as I can tell, that fruit is the "fruit of knowledge of good and evil". So that fruit was actually containing what was right and wrong, and when they ate the fruit, they disobeyed god. It seems that god did not want them to know anything, and only seek his guidance, so he cursed them. That does not sound like a caring god to me though. That just sound like some pompous king that does not want anyone to be his equal.

@KT45 Furthermore, I was taught by a Hebrew Scholar (at college). He explained that the "snake" was actually a play on the words in Eve's name. In Hebrew, Eve's name is a combination of snake and woman, so there is indication that the "snake" was really her questioning herself on whether she should stop being a blind fool and actually gain knowledge, or listen to that god.
And yes, it is strange that Christians don't even know about their own book! :)

It is true that Genesis just calls it a serpent. But Revelation calls Satan the ancient serpent of old.

Ok first of all putting satan on the SUN! That wouldn't be a very good idea. Think about it. Second of all putting Satan in Hell that would be an award. If a robber rob a bank do you give him a bag to put his money in. It would be the same thing if you put him on the sun. (Again that would be very dangerous). No I would not put a servent next to kids btu that is because they are other places to put him. God didn't have a choice. It's common sense.

Actually in revelation Satan is chained up and cast into an abyss and later he is released the verse says Rev20:7 A when a thousand years are expired satan shall be loosed out of his prison. In verse 20:9-10 God sends down a fire and cast the devil, the beast and the false prophet to be tormented in the Lake of Fire forever and ever.
So God not only has prisons he has tortured chambers. Now why didn't God just do this in the first place and trap satan in jail like in revelations?

Well, I'm an atheist, but still I say he is not.
What christians say is, that satan, the symbol of all evil, has been able to tempt us and spoil us. That was when we decided to no longer listen to the creator but to the evil snake. that means we had a choice between good and evil, but yet decided to bite the apple and commit a sin. So satan is what will always be there but what will have to keep resisting until we get to heaven. Again this is what chrisitians say, not my personal opinion.

The story in the vid was slightly different to the original but even if you ignored that there's still so many things wrong with Christianity and Christianity pretty much just shows that god is the biggest hypocrite and mass murderer of all time.
In the bible alone god ordered 2.7 million to be killed. This is not including when people killed in the name of Christianity without being talked to by god or the deaths of Christians.

Since they had no knowlege of what it meant to eat from the tree of knowlegde because they would have to have eaten from it to know, they had no way of knowing it was a sin. God being all knowing should never have put the tree there or he could have stoped satan or he knew thy would do it and set them up any way you look at it, God wanted us to sin. The bible makes God out to be a jerk. I don't think there has ever been another "true" book with so many faults and inconsistancies in it.

The bible story goes much deeper. The scape goating ritual on which it is based is the early religion of sacrifice for favours. An innocent is chosen and blamed for all the problems and transgressions, they are then tortured to death, afterwards flesh and blood is consumed so that all share in the redemption by the ritual destruction of evil as offering. It is barbaric and wicked, a disgrace that such things are taught to kids. The bible religion is sick and repulsive right wing trash.

It isn't based on it. The perversions of other religions are based on the Hebrew system. Evil is a serious thing to God and unlike pagan systems, the Hebrew system had a reason. It was reminding Israel of the evil of their sin nature and also pointing towards Christ who thusly ended animal sacrifice and other OT practices. with the sacrifice of His life in place of humanity and it's evil. With out the OT you can no have a NT. You would have no messiah, no original sin, no ten commandments .etc That is why the OT text was included in the Bible. The NT is based on the OT. BTW any religion that includes the concept of evil provides a reason for it.

The unfortunate thing is that you follow the musings of a man who wasn't a scientist, knew nothing of genetics and the many inter-crossed natural cycles and thought of blacks as sub-human. The actions carried out by his predecessors are consistent with that idea.
However, Christianity doesn't support the disgraces or ignorance of the time when it was supposedly practiced. Out of Christians comes modern art, medicine and theater. I wonder if you know who Dr. Livingston is.

I know of Livingston.Not much about him.The arts dont hold water to the poignont message of what christianity is about,Love god or Endure eternal suffering.Its plain and simple,the details in between as described in the bible are for any true crime fan to read and gleefuly enjoy.

Read about what inspired Livingston to do the things he did. Arts are advanced personal expressions and leave no room for anyone to claim that archaic, outdated stupidity results in fine craftsmanship of any sort. I like how you gloss over monks in history and how they studied many things fervently, including language, geography, botany, history, medical sciences and other fields. Even with a highly religious lifestyle they certainly loved their field study and discovered for the glory of God
