  • I've been surveying for about 10 years now and some of my favorite words still are, "I can make this."

  • So did bin larden not help push

  • lol if your smart lower pressure in tires get he grip on any surface

and for the love of 4wd approach slopes like that with a little more angle

or brut force using a lot of energy as shown in the video lol

  • Is your Eye Man sleeping?

  • Try to use a real pick-up 4x4 ...

  • What is it with surveyors all ways getting their 4wd stuck?

  • Love the video! Brings back memories. I worked as a surveyor for a seismic crew in Oman and if you got your truck stuck and needed help to get it out then you had to buy a case of beer that evening in the bar. One time, my truck broke through the sabkha (salt flats) and sank up to the axle. I worked like crazy to get it out in temperatures of about 45 degrees but failed.

I worked briefly in Pakistan too - the Sind desert - and had a faulty vehicle. Push starting a truck in soft sand is no fun

  • he is quite strong.

  • Awesome. You may be interested in sharing your adventures on globalsurveyors?

  • Looks like you had yourself quite the workout there, bro! I've been stuck a few times myself over the years. Thanks for posting. I definitely learned some "truck extraction tips" & had a few laughs to boot.

  • This was hilarious to watch! Thank you for this awesome video hahaha.

  • I know the feeling mate. I am a surveyor in a coal mine in Australia. Thats how it always works, busy with jobs backing up and one little driver error can bring the day crashing down. But you got to laugh it off!

  • Stuff that shit, buy or hire a plane with LIdar. So what if the accuracy is 150mm

  • lol... : ) you are strong too..

  • this is somewhere in baluchistan, near gawadar - turbat area

  • man, too bad you didnt have any lockers!

  • surveyors pay good? with 10 yrs experience, are you promoted to a higher job?

  • poor guy! Should have brought a land rover. Then land surveyors wouldn't be so expenseive.

  • where in pakistan?

  • @LOLATYOU1 Pakistan is there where usama bin ladin lived, trained by US army, faught a battle against USSR, then he produced his alqaida with the help of CIA in there. now i think u should know the geography of PAKISTAN easily.

  • LOL. all surveyors can relate to getting stuck in stupid places.

  • tru dat! once we pulled our truck out with the winches on both our quads!!

  • Oh we surveyors are a wacky group!!

  • traverse on!

  • If you have a look around 2.45 you will see dirt coming up from the far front tyre.... for the last time it is in 4WD with hubs locked :)

Thanks for the comments guys, can't believe this has got almost 6000 hits

  • like to see a pencile pusher man handle a truck like you just did , ya i realy would have liked to see how u finaly got out real good vid to bad u ran out of rec-time it was building up to what looked like a good finish / i've been a survey assistant (junior tech) for years and we get stuck about once or twice a year in snow/mud hung up on rocks or mound(not a rock mound old time land marks )some surffaces like hard clay with lite coat of wet mud just spining out on the surface on all 4sGOODVID

  • then why are only your back tires spinning? not tryin to be a dick, just curious. i survey for a firm that does mostly topos, would love to go to a place like this to work. hail survey

  • oh yeah and i was doing a topo survey over about 120skm. 1st 2nd or third gear, low rand 4wd the whole time. covered about 2500km at 15 to 20km/hr. went through about 60 tyres and getting stuck either like this or apexed on a hill was a fairly regular occurence. took me about 3 months with other work on my plate and the occasional sand storm thrown in the mix

  • to clear this up.....

Yes it was a 4wd vehicle

Yes it was in 4wd with the hubs locked

Yes it was a bit of a dopey moment that got me in the prediciment in the first place

Yes i had water, radio comms etc

Yes i got out in this instance about 1min after my mc filled up

No i didn't have locking diffs which would have made the whole job a shit load easier

Lots of armchair experts out there

    enjoy&laugh

  • @brettgrocock glad I read this comment before I said "2wd fail", ahhaha

  • 2WD and no locking diff, oh dear buy a decent vehicle next time.

  • Last time i was stuck with my F150 i hammerd big logs under my reartires for traction and backed it up...

  • Been stuck a few time's...honestly what company buys surveyor's 2wd tucks? Not a good idea, although I've had a quite a bit of construction equipment push me out.

  • That was just too funny dude.....! what were you doing in the middle of that pretty desert?

  • i bet the next truck he buys is a 4 wheel drive lol

  • That's the best video i've seen on youtube......

  • Been There done that. Once used a whole bundle of hub's getting out.

  • I know what you feel dude. I done it all: diging, pushing, puling, puting stuff under the wheels. I think that's just something land surveyors must live with. Good video man, and good luck next time you get stuck :)

  • Bloody great mate and i have a mate at work that would love to see this and hell i think he may of done someing like this himself once LOL

  • lol ... u need a 4x4

  • hahahaha...that was good entertainment!

    nice soundtrak too
