beautiful. This is just amazing. I'm doing research on the lady of shallot for are class assembly at school and I think this is probably the most beautiful video i've ever seen!
How beautiful. Utterly haunting, and the music fits the piece perfectly. I literally cannot come up with anything else to say - the video is absolutely wonderful.
I'm just starting out on these Videos - and I had wanted to let the music run a bit over, but I thought it was too long in the 'black screen' - my edit is less than perfect - to put it mildly. Thanks for the tip in yours - I'll take a chance next time. As for your movie, I thought you created a beautiful atmosphere and as Lancelot 'mused a little space;
He said, "She has a lovely face;
God in his mercy lend her grace, The Lady of Shalott."'
I'm a little disappointed by the lack of conflict - my favorite part of the poem is when the lady says "I am half sick of shadows." To me it seems much more dramatic and in direct defiance of her fate. Here she just kind of drifts along. Still, very beautiful, and well done.
And I also approve of the choice of "Isobella" played backwards (I sometimes listen to Enya songs backwards, and my favourite is "Flora's Secret"): it fits the images and the colours. Loreena McKennitt's "The Lady Of Shalott" is my favourite song of all time, but this video is very, very good: putting Loreena's voice in it would have been too easy.
This was absolutely wonderful! I love Waterhouse and Brian Froud...and Loreena Mckennit, Excellent! I just posted my own version of Loreena Mckennit, Wiccan Dance. Thanks so much for sharing!
If you ever wanted to and had the means to make a long story version of the poem then Loreena McKennitt's "The Lady of Shalott" could really use a video.
the poem was being read in the video if i die young by the band perry

Lady of Shalott is not a Enya's song. It's a Loreena Mckennitt's song.

I concur - lovely video, but definitely need to put Loreena McKennit's voice/music with this!

Very elegant play off of the painting/poem. It is a pleasure to watch. Congrats on a job well done!

The song isn't Smaointe from Shepherd Moons, it's Isobella, from A Day Without Rain. I reversed the song to put my own stamp on it you could say.

What software did you use to edit this and play the music backwards? I love this video. Do one with Loreena's version of The Lady of Shalott.
piper42 4 years ago
Why did you use a song played backwards?
jmb917 4 years ago
Isn't that "Smaoinim" from Shepherd Moons playing backwords?

I like enya... but the song of loreena is better!
Thats my opinion.
