cheers, It was done with a mixture of both Deluxe paint 4 and Sculpt 4D... I had Imagine too, but I only ever did the shark demo which was a teaching guide... Imagine seemed to need more power, so I never got involved... even in Sculpt 4d I'd have to use only 2 or 3 key points to do a full camera rotation, moving the camera rather than the object. moving the object was far too taxing on the memory.
Hi there, Thanks for the kind comments. Yes loved Pixar & Lisberger
I don't animate now, as Back in 93, CGames company Psygnosis advertised in the local paper for artists. In my interview they told me I would have to spend thousands on computer equipment to peruse my career... money I simply did not have, Sadly I ended my Computer Career after leaving that interview.
I rarely spent more than a week on one animation. I started them at 16yrs old- I think the last one was at 18yrs old.
Çool, well its funny, you can animate now by just getting free software on a cheap-o windows machine. Or better yet, like me, I own a mac and use free software to make cartoons (actually a photoshop program). Your welcome and you know, stuff like this is what youtube is for :). Hey look at my latest video of a DOS game intro please. Your stuff reminded me to post it.
You know, I would also doing this awesome stuff now (16 years old)
but Windows vista is so boring and demotivating that i'll never will get around to it...
Great that there is going to be a 220 euro Amiga os 4 netbook :)

Why does this look so familiar? I vaguely remember all these animations. I distinctly remember the snowman.
I think I remember at one time seeing a blob looking like a weeble using this same program. I just stuck a gunshot to his head before he fell.
I think this was the demo for the system or something. It's been soooooo long.

would love to see what you could do with the stuff we have today with a little time. Shame you were discouraged from pursuing this path

Very cool. I messed around in DPaint IV when I was younger, too. Had fun with the animating tools in that program.
Your stuff is great! I dig it.

I went on to pursued a career in the film industry making Creature Effects and Prop and modelmaking.
Strangely this seemed a far more plausible career option back then???
