It's great to see a choir get coverage like this. Still....the director does not obtain a refined choral sound from her singers. There's a lack of blend especially. Much more attention must be paid to dynamics. The Thomas Morely is much too heavy handed! The boys quartet was fun, but would be even better if all the boys looked like they were enjoying it as much as the blond kid in the middle. O Magnum?? It was OK. The spiritual?? Oy...as Wonder Bread as you can get!
whatch those consonants and vowels and be sure to use big OH sounds when you sing the music chords. god this is great facial expression but leave something to be desired in puckering of the lips and butox. be sure to have sweet little faces and i just cant believe it! pipe and dance and sing real great for the relatives
Pitch leaves something to be desired at times, as well as dynamics, but we've had that problem all year. We could also use some sort of facial expression...but I'm picky afterall.
I miss chamber choir so much. All this stuff, especially the engagement in New York in May, wouldn't be possible without the rich history of LHS choirs dating back from the B. Neil Davis era up to the Dr. Hanson era. I wish I hadn't graduated so I'd have the chance to sing in New York. Chicago and the workshop at Northwestern doesn't seem to compare.
