  • One of my grandfather's cousins served with 2/3 Motor Ambulance Convoy. He died on the Sandakan Death March in 1945. Thanks for publishing the interview with Bill Fitch.

  • thats interesting. two of my uncles were in WWII. one was in d-day and the other dropped bombs in europe and was on board the plane that bombed hiroshima.

  • I think it was the gordon and Sutherland unit My Grandad was in that unit in WW1 and My Father was in the ABDA fleet (HMS Exeter) and was a POW in Japan (Fukuoka camp 2b Nagasaki) Aussies are good fighters and freindly and down to earth. Salt of the earth! I think the British guys wopuld have fought for the ice cream though! lol

  • @WELLBRAN Yes they were all good fighters, it's kind of depressing when these men have sometimes reconciled and become good friends with those who half a century ago they were conditioned to hate and kill as young men.
