  • That's awesome - I think Bruce Crandall made some of the greatest looking boats - I have some of his plans on my hobby site KruitzKraft . com. Nice job!!

  • Hi Norman. I've been wanting to build this boat for ten years. I got the plans from DN Goodchild. Nice work. I bet the thrill of completion almost brought tears. Now if I could find someone to commission it, I could afford to build it! Does the hull porpoise at speed?

  • I built Flyer more for Show then Go. The engine is on the heavy side. Heavy V6 engine sounds great, but makes the boat impossible to balance right. Flyer skids on a 4feet long, almost flat section just under the engine. Rear section of the hull is very narrow, and dont help much for stabillety. Flyer is a very small boat. keep the engine light, and dont overpower. This can bee a scary boat, and might bite! For max speed, build another. For max pleasure, good luck building

  • I bet she flies on calm waters!!!

  • The boat looks great!!! how fast have you had this little monster going before it starts to misbehave itself?

Id love to see a video with the new engine up and running as well as see any build photos you have. I've started construction of a slightly modified version of the flyer myself and am just getting ready to start putting the keel and chines in this wkd.

The set of plans I'm using i got online for free, but I did have to learn how to loft first easy stuff.

  • det er den feteste båten jeg noensinne har sett!!

all credz til deg som har bygd den.

  • Ya make more videos I am thinking about building the boat.

  • You finished it!! I'm building the same boat. I was not happy with the quality of the plans from classicboatplans. So had a friend do a whole new set in rino. What are you using for a power plant? Beautiful job. Are you on a lake? Were in Norway is this? I would like to see more pictures and video.

  • This boat is built from the original 1936 plans. Cold moulded over the original framework. Engine in the video is a V.P AQ175 3,8L V-6. It only gave about 50% power, and managed 3000rpm. this due to a faulty carb. I have now installed a brand new 4,3L V-6 chevy marine engine. 200hp+.Its abit overpowered, but great fun. The boat is used in salt water, but I managed to squeeze in a freshwater cooling system .I am situated in Bergen, the Fjord-capital on Norways west coast.
