I can't believe no one's mentioned it yet, but this is a complete rip off of Martin Scorsese's 'Taxi Driver'. It's almost a carbon copy of the scene with Martin Scorsese and Robert De Niro sitting in a taxi outside a black guy's house watching a silhouette of his wife in the window. Plus the shot of the guy through the rear car window at the end as the taxi drives off is exactly the same shot of Cybill Sheperd at the end.

It was well scripted and I liked it, but there are to many theories and complications as to what the point of it actually was. I just suspected that it was him not being able to pay, but then he got back into another car and went back the way he came.

There is also the extra subtextual use of the word "yellow" insofar as he is 'yella' or 'chicken' and won't go in and do what he threatened. The cab - though not yellow coloured as in a New York cab - perhaps has a link to the theme. And lastly, the meter read $50, which is a yellow coloured polymer note in Australia.

that guy wasnt a taxi driver, he seen that his wifes car was there, that was the car in the driveway it was just hard to tell its yellow cus of the shadow but it was a hatchback , and the facial expression on the mans face tells you it was his wife, as they got back he hoped into another cab, taking the same first left to do the whole thing over again

I believe that it was talking about the taxi drivers themselves. As to say what do you do when a crazy man hopes into your car? It was a game he was playing with their minds. His wife may have been cheating, but to the drivers its as if he is saying be careful of your life.

The only way I could understand is to be that he is also a taxi driver, but he catches other taxis I guess to have that one time shot at catching his wife and his brother sleeping with each other, and since he didn't that time, He got back in his taxi to go park somewhere else and hail another taxi and have him drive him to the house and see if his wife's car is outside of his brothers house....if that isn't the way it was meant, I'm confused with the rest of ya...

I dont think he got back into his own taxi, because the guy driving the first taxi was seated on the right hand side of the car, and when he hopped into the second taxi he got in on the left side...but I believe you're right about taxi hopping to catch his wife at the right moment, otherwise it's just a play off of the title "Yellow"...he's just addicted to this cyclical game of taxi hopping and found a way to do it without paying them.
