THIS WOULDN"T WORK. if you take a person and split them up into atoms, they are now dead. if you put the person back together, even with the same atoms, it is still a new person. you have made a copy, and the original person is dead, forever. i would get teleported and never wake up, but a copy of me would be walking around, and no one else would see a difference. you could take atoms from the air and make a person (protons changed) you would have too of the same people, with the same memories.

@knightsfly5 You don't teleport anything, best case scenario you copy quantum information from one particle to another, in fact the actual teleportation mechanism still relies on an optical link to send entangled particles over distance, I really doubt Kaku is that clueless, he is just sugar coating stuff to an extend what he says has nothing to do with the actual experiments quantum physicists do, I guess he tries to attract public interest and thus funding... it's pathetic IMO...

(whats your definition of perfection anyway?) Sometimes the seemingly impossible is achieved. So we never really know. Teleportation has a deeper meaning in quantum physics. The object being teleported is not really being transfered to another place. Only another replica if you may gets created which exactly the same somewhere else. Since every electron spin which the final identity of particle in quantum physics is the same it really is the same object that ended up somewhere else. Note I used replica at the begginging but it is not.

Now that Michio Kaku confirmed that particles can be transported between two locations instantaneously through Teleportation. What happens to the mind of the subject during Teleportation? Does the subject come back intact physically (only) or does the mind of the subject become lost in "Limbo?" Teleportation brings up some interesting questions. 1- What if when you teleport it actually kills you and then makes a clone of you somewhere else? 2 - What if theres a delay between when you get beamed up and when you get beamed down? It would essentially be travelling through time into the future. Also if you teleported far away from the earth to say a hundred lightyears away, with a powerful telescope you could theoretically look back at Earth and see 100 years into the past. Crazy stuff...

It makes sense too, so I doubt anyone can convince me to go through a teleporter unless one is created that doesnt deconstruct me. Like in the game Portal. I think the science behind that is that the device folds space and creates an opening and exit. The teleportation described in the video would be great for transporting food, plants, and other materials however.

If we get quantum computing going... think about this scenario.
A quantum computer with immense loads of memory, analyzes every single quantum state of every single subatomic particle in your body (ie. spin up, spin down, positive, negative charge) downloads that, sends the information to a computer somewhere else, which spits back all your atoms in the exact quantum state that they were when they were ripped apart. Actually they don't even need to rip you apart... you've just created a clone.
