I kinda like this part of the game. I have flashbacks of Okami and Chrono Cross (the water temple design and the dragon/flame thing). Don't really know about the previous LoZ games because I only played Link's Awakening long ago before playing SS now.

Actually I think Great bay temple in MM is much more difficult and annoying then the water temple in OoT. Once you get the hang of the water temple it's really an easy temple. The only difficulty is dark link, but with a few tricks an some swordfight techniques managable, where espacially the boss fight in Great Bay is so difficult. About TP I can't say anything, I've never played it.

Oy, I know this is a bit late to mention, but you can actually just use your bug net to easily deal with bees (I think they're called Deku Hornets). They're actually very useful in upgrading health potions, too.

You're not supposed to hit Moblins' shields at all. You use them as a crate-like object, run over them, and slash at them repeatedly from behind. When he turns around again, repeat this process if necessary.
