  • Sooooo good.

  • Y U SO PERFECT?

  • RICH

  • just... beautiful

  • 4:34 - amazing

  • Oh .. yes. He's hot.

  • I want to make love with his music.

    Is it possible?

  • @ttowelie if you figure out how to, let me know as well. <3

  • @ttowelie sodomize it

  • @ttowelie did ya try grooveshark??

  • omg he gives me chills!! the harmony with the violin is incredible, i love add9s :)

  • He's on fire here, wow. Such a good performance.

  • I saw Andrew Bird perform live the night before my PhD prelim presentation despite the fact that I hadn't made my presentation slides. I'd bought the tickets in advance and through unfortunate scheduling quirks ended up in this situation... .

Anyway, I still went and stayed for the whole concert and stayed up all night and all day next day on the sheer emotional high from his incredible performance. I'd worship this man if I were the worshipping kind of man but I just buy his albums instead.

  • i love the syncopation of this!

  • he*

  • Justin Bieber wishes hi was this good....

  • If I could whistle half as good as this guy...

  • The cure for O.C.D. Death. How can you possess life unless you also possess Death. the circle of L & D. Opposites attract. This is the escape from a black-hole. One of the most important things of music is, Silence. Knowledge is power. How Good are your instincts.

  • Oh the ambiguity of Music. allot of his music (messages) seem to make sense. He's definitely found some type of balance among this Generation of imbalanced creations. Like Zero in respect to the full spectrum of infinity........ THANKS AB [*] we respect the honesty.

  • 6 people jizzed in their pants and accidentally hit the dislike button.

  • I love this guy!! - I Love You AB. You and your music drive me crazy...

  • Can't believe the live version is better than the album one. Feels like a ten piece band.

  • As we say, he's the shiz! Awesome.

  • I prefer the live version! It's great! I love this song <3

  • lindo

    eu te amo andrew

    vc é o melhor

    vem pro Brasil, por favor.

  • wow i was in ahhh at this video. i knew andrew bird was talented but damn!

  • HOLY SHIT

  • Im going to have to say that this is better then the finished song. but then again anything that Andrew Bird does is just pure magic. He is a pure genius in what he does and i wish that the music world could see how great he is.

  • @tinytim13434 I like this version too, but one thing I love about the "finished" song is the way Martin Dosh's drums re-enter at about 2:50. Overall, I think I'd love a version closer to this one but incorporating some features from the "finished" version (esp. the aforementioned re-entry).

  • @tinytim13434 So true. I bought the album, but this is the version I listen to over and over.

  • @tinytim13434 I heard this, bought the album, listened to the album version, and came right back here.

  • @tinytim13434 I'm starting to think he's much better live than in the studio. he did a live version of Nervous Tic Motion that's a lot better than the studio version, as well.

  • I am so amazed. That's true talent.

  • Incredible. A very, very talented guy.

  • Anyone ever seen Emily Wells? I found her before I discovered Andrew Bird and it seems like he has a more developed fanbase so I take it he has been playing with the violin on loops for a while? Anyway, she has her own sound and is very talented, worth at least a look if you like this.

  • Its not fair!!! Why cant I be like him???!!!!!

  • im sorry but no one can do what he does and be good at it.

  • genius with that loop pedal he's using

  • This is a truly incredible video.......andrew bird you are a inspiration!!

  • see a sea anemone, see a sea anemone. that'll be the enemy.

  • love his music <3 <3 <3

  • How did I live musically before AB?????? I thought I was complete, now I know that I am!

  • Reminds me of Yann Tiersen... :)

  • So talented.

  • excellent

  • omg!

    LOVEEEE

  • Another incredible piece of music! Is there a new cd out?

  • Yes, his new CD is out Nobel Beast

  • My mind has just been blown...

  • i love his delays. it's amazing that he can create a "wall of sound" effect with one instrument. he's a brilliant composer.

  • lol at the monkey. Great music. Love the violin.

  • BRILLIANT!!

  • That is exactly what I said xD

  • oh my god....wow

  • so much better than the album version

  • love it!

  • GOOSEBUMPS! <3

  • @TASKANIA DITTO!

  • !!!!!!!!

  • i want this version of this song anyone have it ?

  • It's on iTunes

  • frostwire it

  • he uses a loop machine thingy. If you like Bird you should check out David Ford or even Keller Williams. They're all their own little one man band.

  • excellent music. An drew Birds the shiznit!

  • so how does he get the different violin parts? is he recording them as he goes?

  • Comment removed

  • he is a genius!

    x

  • nezneon...

    STFU

  • well go somewhere else...

  • this is great stuff, it reminds me of Battlestar Galactica music :)

  • I don't see the resemblance, but the fact that you mentioned BSG merits a thumbs up!

  • saw him support The Decemberists this past weekend...I had never heard any of his music....he was absolutely fabulous...so talented.

  • this is so awesome, im buying a violin and im gonna learn to play it just cuz his andrew bird's music is so awesome and inspiring

  • what an insanely talented musician... GREAT live version of this song

  • Wow, I'm diggin this bigtime!

  • nice nice nice nice very nice

  • This is one my favorite songs of all time - I just love the colorful music he expresses - there is SO Much depth too it!!

  • That's a great way to put it; depth. That really sets him apart from most other bands/musicians. Andrew Bird creates an entire musical atmosphere as opposed to a simple chord progression and melody.

  • I play the violine too... and its amazing to here this song, this song give me new ideas =)

  • His tone accuracy is scary. Andrew Bird isn't just any artist.

  • Andrew Bird and Martin Dosh should start a band. The two of them together is just too good. They should never tour/record without one another.

  • Aww this is my favorite song on the new album. All of his music is amazing! True talent!

  • Amazing song...beautifuuuuuuuuuuuullllllllllll

  • incredible... Nice way to play pizzicato on the violin :P

  • this is awesome!

  • This man is a genius.

    A virtuoso.

  • Divine Inspiration!!! :)))))))))

  • this guy knows what he is doing. a true inspiration

  • oh how i adore this man. where has he been all my life?

  • interesting hearing this version and finding the differences to the studio version.

  • Truth--I like how this one just starts randomly in the middle of the first verse. He's fantastic.

  • This man gives me the chills.

    Brilliant. Absolutely brilliant.

  • yah! i was there at the sound check when this was filmed. it was a beautiful experience. totally recommend seeing him if you ever get the chance. you will be blown away.

    :)

  • He and Dosh are ELECTRIC.

  • I see night hangar, the sock monkey!

  • Yes, yes! I saw it (as not to be gender specific) in person last Saturday!

  • I have been trying to figure out what kind of music Andrew plays for years now. With the coupling of his name with Guthrie's I sort of like the idea of him being a new surge in folk music. Like folk mark II or the like.

  • lol stop trying to categorize it and just enjoy it man

  • brilliant as ever :)

  • nobody even comes close to his level of talent these days. absolutely incredible.

  • breaks my heart and sends me flying at the same time. beautiful process. love how he simply puts it out there. things like this fulfill some of the requirements of living.

  • I think the best thing about this song is how he played it at shows before it was even completed. That takes guts, you know? And for the audience members, it is so nice to get to see the creative process in action.

    Love him.

  • DAMN, the man is a mystery.

  • Wow - what a video! I am really diggin Noble Beast and Useless Creatures, and I can't wait for 4/10 in Chicago! You are the greatest!

  • This is incredible <3. I wish I could have been there.

You're great! Keep doing what you're doing.

  • Does anyone know when this performance is from?

  • Comment removed

  • sometime in December 2007

  • i'm not going to lie,

anonanimal is probably one of my favorite songs (like, top three status) on noble beast.

    oh, andrew bird,

    you blow my mind.

  • please,come to Italy...

  • Andrew Bird is so amazing.

  • huh..I'd pay a lot to see this fella live, I think.

  • A couple years ago you could see him for about 10 bucks. This has sadly changed. But good for Andrew, he deserves it.

  • partly depends on the venue - in providence i've seen him for under $30 (which is a steal, but if it were much more i wouldn't be able to afford to go...) and i already bought tix to see him in october. can't wait for that luscious stripe-socked man to grace my town with his band.

  • I got the privilege of seeing him at Radio City Music Hall in NYC for a little over $30. It was quite a steal... not to mention an excellent value for my money. If I didn't have rehearsal the night of his Columbus concert, I would've tried to see him there, too.

  • I saw him at Lolla this year.

He surely is brilliant...especially live. Something just "clicks" in his performances that doesn't come across on his albums.

    Beautiful.

  • Awesome!

Yes, he is absolutely fantastic live. But his studio material is fantastic as well. I admire his musical genius.

  • I'm glad andrew has the same set up as the last tour. Looks like Dosh is back on the drums too. Those horns are such a key symbol of Birds live band. So stoked for the local gig.

as for the performance, just breathtaking really.
