@1091Floyd21 Actually, Robbie Williams has stated that this song is, in fact, about his time in Take That and the break-up of the band and his feelings afterwards. During live performances he's often dedicated it to the other band members. When he reunited with them he changed the last line of the song from "the love we once had is officially dead" to "...officially alive". So yeah, the song is not about a girl.

it sounds like he says " i look for somewhere / one else to skive" I don't know whether its just cheeky dig at himself. To skive off, is to not do anything, so maybe its just a joke at the thought that everyone thinks he's been doing nothing for the last 3 years.

Its because the song is about his relationship with the other members of Take That. It was Dead at the end, but as he has reconcilled with the guys and their friends again, he now says Alive. It just shows that their all now friends again and that the friendship is Alive.
