  • hey type in this ' i dreamed a dream by SuperGabThomas' thats me and im 12 and have been singing 3 months out of my whole life :)

  • listen to 'i dreamed a dream by SuperGabThomas' btw im 12

  • your amazing! :)

  • Thank you very much. Sorry...just seen this comment!!

  • @millydunn it's okay, and you're welcome

  • Very nice rendition-a lovely, delicate voice (as you mentioned you can belt more now) connected with your feelings; I think your kind and perceptive nature shows here in how you interpret Fantine's response. Naturally each artist has to develop what she thinks is important, and your voice is yet young, but as for suggested 'improvements', I would train for more dramatic intensity and capacity, a la Henshall.

  • A very good effort from a very pretty girl. This needs a little more power and congruent expression.

I like Ruthie Henshall's Royal Albert version best. She really 'acts' the song while she sings it. Show tunes like this have context, and they are really meant to be acted as well as sung.

Keep working on it. Hope to see you on Broadway some day.

  • Thank you....I completely agree with your comments about power. Emily is actually 18 now and studying full time at Arts Ed so I'm handling the YT channel on her behalf. I hope she'll be able to post some songs at Christmas, after her first term of professional training. Hopefully, you'll notice the difference!!!

  • im crying

  • You are so young and your life is ahead of you for your singing career!! Keep on singing! Lovely song!

  • Thank you very much :-)

  • I like how your voice can come out sounding so subtle but strong at the same time. (:

  • thank you :-)

  • Very beautiful, nice job!

  • thank you very much :-)

  • Beautiful, don't be afraid to belt it because I know you can.

  • yep...this was a few years ago, I do belt more now

  • Sweet. Very sweet Suprano voice. Try out for broadway. :)

  • I'm training full time in September so would love to work in Broadway one day. Thanks for watching and commenting :-)

  • Beautiful job!

  • thank you very much :-)

  • You have a gorgeous voice. I played this play in London and NY... Work on your phrasing. I loved the tenderness at the beginning, but in the middle and the end ... Please be a little rough.Like... "When the Tigers come at night"(Tiger tank...WW2)Think of that. You are great though, just a few issues.

  • Thank you so much for the constructive criticism - you're absolutely right. I'm 17 now and have been working developing power in my voice.

    x

  • great cover.... again,,,,,,love your voice

  • Thanks...this seems so long ago now :-)

  • awsome! :) but did u switch the key????? :(

  • Yes. This was recorded a few years back and I wasn't capable then of singing in the correct key.

  • i still enjoyed it though! :D

  • WOW!

  • Thank you very much

  • Magnificent performance. You are as beautiful as your voice....

  • This is really good!!!! thats an understatement, it is FAB!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Odd question but are you alto or soprano?

    XXX

  • ummm???? Not sure really... I end up singing either. Apparently, I've got quite a big range... like mezzo soprano songs best!!

Thank you for watching and the very kind comments.

    Luv Emily xxx

  • Beautiful, beautiful voice! So pure and clear! Please keep the posts coming! And thank you so much for sharing!

  • Thank you very much for such lovely comments. I will be posting more but have been busy studying for exams recently :-(

  • Truly beautiful, Milly!

    What a beautiful voice!

  • Thank you for your lovely comments!

    Luv Emily xx

  • Wow! Unbelievable performance! I can't believe how gorgeous your lower register and upper voice sound. Usually, singers who sound as angelic and pure on the high notes don't have such a strong command of the low notes. You are incredibly talented! Have you had professional training?

  • Thank you for such lovely comments. I do have singing lessons. I'm now nearly 17 (this was recorded over 2years ago!),

    Luv Emily xx

  • Thanks so much for responding to my comment! I also listened to your more recent version of I Dreamed a Dream, but I left the comment here because I think that your earlier performance shows how much natural talent you have--your voice is even more polished and powerful now than in this performance, but the beautiful tone and passion of your singing is obviously a God-given gift.

  • lmao

    ur great!

  • beautiful...from the heart...

  • Thank you very much!!

  • lovely

  • Thank you!!

  • That was so very lovely!

  • Thank you!!

  • This version gave me chills. Susan is the only one who has been able to do that so far.

Great job, Emily. You have a very beautiful voice,

  • Thank you for such a wonderful compliment.

    Emily x

  • oh my.... the pianist really sort of ruin the thing isnt it? =/ but the vocal is really beautiful. =)

  • THank you!!

    xx

  • realli preety voice! :D nd btw i luv u rdress!

    xooXoXx

    :P

  • Ahh...thank you. This was recorded over two years ago and I don't fit into the dress any more :-(

  • Pretty voice

  • Thank you for all you lovely comments

    xx

  • To continue that point, perhaps millydunn might confirm if that's right or not?!

Then "krazyutubefreak " can call me an idiot if I'm wrong. Thankyou for your pending judgement.

  • Yes, you are right...it's an electric keyboard and the pianist hadn't seen the music until the day of the performance. He had literally only rehearsed it once with me. So, no, it's not totally his fault although, as I've said before, I don't think he liked the song and so tried to 'jazz' it up a bit.

Thank you very much for such positive comments :-)

    Luv Emily xx

  • You are all really amazing! You comment so well. You should be proud...

Sounds very much to me like the pianist is playing an electric piano without a sustain pedal (or a broken one). Few note errors, but then they probably had a few days to practice it and then had to turn pages themselves. The feel and flow of the piano was clearly very dynamic and very suitable.

So, I might be wrong, but would be surpised if it wasn't the tools that were the problem, not the player.

  • Good job....:) effortlessly...

  • Thank you!!

  • maybe the pianists sustain pedal was turning itself on and off lol?

    no i doubt it

  • yet another person who doesn't like the pianist. Hope he never visits this site and sees what everyone thinks of him lol!!

  • yes, yes, yes, even me from germany is here cause of miss boyle. emily, i did not regrett listening to you. but please: never work together with this amateur playing the piano

  • lol!! No, he's never played for me since. He really didn't like this song at all and I think that was reflected in his playing

Thanks very much for listening and commenting

    Emily

  • Copy and paste if the AMAZING Susan Boyle brought you here!

  • That pianist sucks. Too many gaps. I mean WOW, what a total idiot. Absolutely ruined the song.

  • hahahhhahaha

    so true!

  • Copy and paste if Susan Boyle brought you here! From Dallas, Texas

  • Susan Boyle brought me here from the Midwest U.S.A

  • Lea Salonga brought me here.. the best Fantine ever... Susan Boyle is an old granny....

  • Copy and paste if Susan Boyle brought you here

  • WOW!!! :)

    Ruthie Henshall Brought me here!!!

  • Susan Boyle brought me here from São Paulo - Brazil

  • Copy and paste if Susan Boyle brought you here

  • Copy and paste if Susan Boyle brought you here

  • Nice version. Wish I could have heard you better. The piano drowned you out.

  • yes, Emily was only 14 when this was recorded. She's now nearly 17 and her voice is a lot stronger.

    Debbie x

  • check out susan boyle singing this.

  • have done already lol!!

  • Susan brought me here

    this is beautiful...

    without the pianist

  • Thanks Susan lol!

Happy you liked it... apart from the pianist!

  • Wow, she's got an incredible voice.

  • Thank you very much!!

    x

  • you are really really good!

but fire that damn pianist!!!! not a good accompanist at all!

  • No, I don't think he liked the song and tried to 'jazz' it up a bit.

    Thanks for watching and commenting.

I have a more recent version on here if you're interested.

    x

  • you did an amazing job!! but i agree with everyone...I love this song and the melody is simple and beautiful but the pianist did too much

  • Thank you!!

  • she is great, but the piano is

    tryng to lead,and dominate.

  • Yes, he was trying to jazz it up. Don't think he liked the song much lol!!

    Thanks for the comment.

    xx

  • you are so good!

  • Ah, thanks so much, Isabella. xxx

  • bigger breaths...build to "shame" belt it..and DO lost the pianist---yike...that hurt you. Would love to hear you with a orchestra...you got the pipes girl.. tell the story and never use the dude on the piano anymore..sweet...

  • Thank you very much for watching and the constructive comments.

    xx

  • i find it really useful to sing without a microphone when i perform - to try and really throw the sound out - you have a lovely but quite quiet voice, so it'll help you to show stronger dynamics which is really important in this. some people sing it like a pop song, with no range of volume - and that is not a good thing! :D

  • Fantastic rendition of one of my favourite songs, you have an angelic voice. But sorry lose the pianist.

  • Thank you very much. This is the only time they used this particular pianist!!

    xx

  • I love your voice, and your interpretation of the song!!! So sensitive and soft. So gentle. Absolutely heartbreaking.

  • Thank you very much for your kind words. Emily xxx

  • You mean breathtaking?

Well, the song might be heartbreaking though. lol. Anyway, Good Job Emily!

  • Thank you!!

    xx

  • Lovely voice, brilliant performance. I'd fire the accompanist though - they made "But the tigers..." and the following bit sound almost upbeat! Not quite the right mood.

  • Thank you, Guinniegirl!! xx

  • woowoo :P so goood!

keep going with singing, you will be famous one day :P

  • Very kind of you to say so. I would love to sing for a living. Don't really care about the fame thing lol!!! Luv Emily xx

  • just popping by for another listen, I love ur voice Milly!!

  • Thank you, Emma. We luv u 2 lol!! Good luck in the competition!! xxx

  • wow you're awesome!

  • Thank you very much!! xx

  • really nice.

  • Thank you xx

  • Good job. Well done.

  • Thank you! xx

  • You've got an amazing voice..

  • Aw!! Thank you very much. xx

  • Ahhh I love this song!

  • reallyyy pretty voice and its amazing especially for how young you are... the only thing i'd work on was the acting part of that song. if you really read into what the song is about there is SO much more emotion to be conveyed. really great though :]

  • Yes, you're right. I'm actually 15 now and am playing Fantine in June. Hopefully, I perform this a lot better now. Thanks for commenting. Luv Emily xx

  • you're really good but i don't think that you told the story through your voice enough. you have beautiful voice.

  • I TAKE THAT ALL BACK!

I was joking... you're amazing! Maybe the start was a little too quiet but otherwise, your performance was very good. I also love the dress! Keep going - you'll go far!

  • Thank you! Problem is I don't fit into the dress anymore. It's a size 8 and I'm now a 10. Would u like it??!!! xxx

  • Yes! Where did you get it? It's absolutely gorgeous... any chance if you could send your hair too?!
