well, it's not like you couldn't just redownload them. I know it would be a pain in the ass, but you wouldn't get re-charged. As long as you know your itunes info, you're a-OK!

also i did it this way and cydia installed but boot neuter does not appear on my iphone screen?? is that ok?? i thought that boot neuter appeared on the screen to turn off and on the unlock??

yes this worked perfectly and now i have a question, i started my iphone as a new phone correct, do i need to apply anything important to it, since boot neuter 2.1 is installed and cydia appears on my phone, is there anything that i could be missing or do i just insert my teen mobile sim card and test it??

What if you don't wait 10 seconds when you hold down the buttons? does it have to be exact or just over 10 seconds? also is this red snow?

Hey , I am currently using a jailbroken iphone 2g , with 2.2 on it ... i want to upgrade to 3.1 , but i have a query . Should i leave the sim inside be4 doing this process , or should i take it out ( im using vodafone in india ) , because last time when i upgraded to 2.2 , i did not get my reception .. and had to get it fixed . Also , i use itunes 8.2.1 currently ... is that software version right for the process mentioned ( on mac )

so i just wanted to state that i have looked up every possible way to jailbreak my 3g with the 3.1 iphone and they are all the same... download the custom firmware and put it in DFU mode do the shift restore and use the custom 3.1 firmware and it never makes it past preparing to restore and i get a 1601 error... Help?

Yes this will work for your device, but you will lose everything if you don't back it up on itunes.
