Is this something that only vets can do or is this something most horse owners do themselves? I dont have a horse although I'd love one, but people I know that have horses do all their own shots and file the hooves, they do have a farrier come and clip the hooves and put shoes on the horse every so often though.
@XxShedevilx15xX Some horseowners float their own horses' teeth but most have a vet do it. For one thing it is hard work, especially if you don't do that type of work regularly. Also, there is a risk of damaging the soft tissues in horse's mouth and the teeth if you don't know what you are doing.
@terramar111 a horse's nerves end close to the gumline, so there is no nerve where the tooth is being worked on, and therefore does not feel any toothpain
"to tell the age of any horse inspect the lower Jaw of course , the six front teeth the tale will tell and any doubt or fear dispel" ... the whole tooth poem is on my channel or on twomblypublishing 's channel :)

Does that hurt the horse? If someone tried to file my teeth I'd probably be screaming.
