I had a TOTAL BLAST playing this game when I had my DC. I rented it, played non-stop as the gameplay was so GOOD and finished it in 5 days.

I felt sad for going after the giant whale, promoted Vyse to the max, found only 48 treasures, after getting the upgraded ship, going under or above ground limits the random battles, didn't upgrade the princess' helper to its fullest, only at this rpg that I found out that focus firing one enemy does help A LOT.

In short, one of the best rpgs I've played.

Honestly... I can't blame him... You have no idea what you are asking of him... This is the Chrono Trigger / Lunar Silver Star Story of the Dreamcast...

I still have my NGC version and I can tell you for certain that unless I find another working Dreamcast and am lucky enough to come across someone who would be willing to part with a mint/near-mint copy of the game, I'll be waiting around for a DLC variant of it as well...

The NGC version while more complete, has worse sound...

Also it should be added that while a few of the additions of the NGC version are really quite nice & fun to play around with... (Considering anyone outside of Japan couldn't otherwise have gotten them any other way)

A lot also only seem to just be useless & ignorable at best (With a few glaring exceptions that actually force you to take a detour from the main game & deal with them)

And if you do delve into them you will be grossly overpowered come time for the final boss... @_@

I myself aquait it to a "primitive" (loose term) Wind Waker. It has basically the same stigma, though I feel far more adult. I would've loved to see this kind of stuff when I was growing up. Alas, it has been years since the N64. Still, we can relish that the Dreamcast lives on in many ways.

Must say, the logo for the DC version looks more appealing than the GC port, and the music's definitely of higher quality.

The audio must've taken a dive when they compressed the game into a tiny GC disc.

Ah, the original... many haven´t noticed that the sound got more... how should I say it... trapped. The special attack sounds are much sharper on this version. I should know... got the original myself, although my cable has broken to the DC... got to fix that before playing this wonderful game again. It´s always as fantastic everytime you turn it on. Could you by any chance show some fighting-sequences as well?

There´s a ton of gaming from the GC and I have a feeling they´re forgetting it´s a copy they are playing and not the original.
