This movie will win no oscars, but it doesn't matter, it's classic American cheese with spirit. I loved this film when I was growing up in the eighties and Michael provides the enigmatics necessary to suspend disbelief that he has skills. It's simply one of those films that everyone saw on vhs and many on on dvd simply because of what it is. It's one of the best budget Hollywood Ninja films ever made, perhaps *the* best.

I loved this so much back when I was just a little shit-kid in the 80's! I really identified with Michael's character because he was such a loner in this like I am. Someone always determined to do what is right and honorable. I also wanted to be working with supplies in the army when I grew up at that time. The Shinobi Ninja-to sword I own now is better than the one's that were used in this film! Love & Live Bushido always!!

Reasons why this one is better than all the sequels combined: 1. Main character actually has ninja skills. 2. Main character is actually a ninja. 3. Fight sequences are much faster. 4. The ninjas are normal human ninjas, not ninjas that are scientifically created. 5. The main bad guy is actually Japanese and posed the greatest threat to any of the main character. 6. Main character had a ninja master. 7. Main character isn't a Chuck Norris wannabe. 8. Better plot. 9. Strong bad guys. 10.Nuff-said

And did you know that some if not most of the scenes were taken from the Philippines? Yes most of this scenes were really taken from the Philippines and most of the people used as what we call "EXTRAS" were Asians and most them were Filipinos, Malaysian, and etc. Especially that white haired man on the middle part was one of the Great Filipino artist.
