Great choice !!!!I have a similar video of my friends' paintings ,accompanied by Gnossiene 1 . Satie's music is always wandering ,always measured yet undecided. By reflecting on the paintings and this music I was thinking that perhaps this piece represents what it would have felt like to live in the era of industrial evolution , see the changes of lifestyle and trying to search for a meaning of it all .
The Pictures/paintings to the pc. of music were very nice -- nothing stuck out to detract from the beauty of the piece. I think that's 1st evidence of a success. I know about spending hours finding the right word, the right blend, you have done a wonderful job. I enjoyed it very much. Thank you for your work and for posting.
I got a good music theory teacher and he told me lots about him. Apparently the misery he lived in is far more disturbing that what you can read on wikipedia.
@buzzzzer sorry the only reference I have is my teacher who is a tumpeter with 44 years of experience with alot of other talent In music buisness.-------- you can seek for louis babin in google if you want to
for the biography of Erik Satie, I truly don't know. Google ? Librairy ?

@Randerion He started his own church with himself as the only member and now he is being played at your church. That is kind of ironic.

GREAT video
nobody embodies le fin de siècle as Satie does

Three people who dislike this video are perfectly healthy, normal and sane (and not at all touched by the craziness of genius).

it seems to be pretty universal that Satie's music is associated with a sort of lovely creepiness... only way I can describe it
lmfviolet78 11 months ago 61
@lmfviolet78 "lovely creepiness" lol, but i agree... it is like dark light, its depressing but also it cheers you up... Full of emotions

The title of the 3rd image by Gustav Klimt is not "Water Snakes" but "Fishblood", painted/drawn in 1898.

'Vertigo'by Leon Spilliaert works for me. It is most fantastical and dream like...and that to me is the appeal of Satie's music.
