Over the last two years, when I was given the insurance forms during 'Open Enrollment", I was shocked to see that the premium payments were to increase by double, and the benefits were slashed. Many medications that were covered before, were now not. Procedures were now not included in the coverage. Er visits had to be approved. How stupid is that? And all of this with no warning, because the companies don't have to. And their policy is this "If you don't like it, cancel!"

The US is not a "democracy" and was never intended to be. The US is a Constitutional representative REPUBLIC. Persons "elected" into government in the US are there NOT to "lead" the public but to convey and carry out the will of their constituents to the best of their abilities.
People today are so incredibly ignorant of their own government's foundation they actually think they live in a socialist plutocratic form of fascism, that their government OWNS them and tells THEM what to do.

First of all nobody said that everyone should live 100 years, for most of human history the average lifespan was like 30-40 years and that's it. Medcare is very expensive so don't put your problems on other's shoulders, insure yourself so you're not a burden to others like you are when you say, "Treat me, I'm not insured but I have my RIGHTS!" Yeah, sure, just say what did you do? Invent cure for cancer? AIDS? Saved a child from fire? No? Then die as mother nature wants you to and BEAT IT!

Over the last two years, when I was given the insurance forms during 'Open Enrollment", I was shocked to see that the premium payments were to increase by double, and the benefits were slashed. Many medications that were covered before, were now not. Procedures were now not included in the coverage. Er visits had to be approved. How stupid is that? And all of this with no warning, because the companies don't have to. And their policy is this "If you don't like it, cancel!"

I don't think so, each state should offer a "Universal Health care option plan" which gives you options like Minnesota Care, its "Optional" and does not penalize you for not having it by Taxing you like the Health Care Bill will eventually do!

With health insurance reform comes education about leading better and healthier lives...I think Mrs. Obama has taken a strong initiative here, but at virtually none of these rallies, town hall meetings, what have you, do I recall the President or any of his Democratic cronies say to the American people "You have to do your part" in leading a healthier life. They're are plenty of people receiving medical care today for conditions whose fault is every bit their own - and we have to pay for that??
