@CoolBoy529 THANK GOD somebody agrees with me. the hardest purple coin mission in my opinion is purple coins on the puzzle cube. i did luigi's purple coins on my 8th try, purple coins in the bone pen on my 2nd try, battlestation's purple coins on my 10th try and purple coins on the puzzle cube on my... like 36th try. and did you choose 529 coz its the square of 27? (it takes someone as nerdy as me to notice a random number is a square. xD

I don't see the big deal with this level. It's a lot easier than some others. personally i think lava spire daredevil run is the hardest. But what was funny was I tried it like 20 times before getting a game over but then when I came back later to play it I got it on my first try. The blowing up trash level in drednaught took me a long time as well

For some reason, I found "Luigi's Purple Coin Chaos" in SMG2 to be slightly easier than this. The Cosmic Clones were redundant, since in this one you can't backtrack anyway due to the disappearing platforms.

I remember when I first tried this star I thought I had to get every coin. After about an hour I realized that there were more than one hundred, and beat it in only a couple tries after that. I was quite annoyed.

I remember the first few times I tried this stage I thought you had to get ALL the purple coins to complete it, not realizing there were 150 of them and you only needed 100 to complete the level... so yea, needless to say, my first dozen or so tries failed miserably and i was ready to throw my Wiimote through my TV screen because i couldn't figure out how it would be possible to get every single one of those friggin coins lol! As soon as i realized i only needed 100... piece of cake!

Wow, man, you've got to have some stone cold patience. I always had to put it down after a bit, there's no way I'd be able to play this level for 6 hours straight, over and over, they'd have to haul me away and lock me up!

I have to agree with most here, Battlestation's Purple Coins was pretty damn hard too. As was the garbage dump thing, it wasn't so much not knowing where to throw the bombs, it was getting them to land in the right place every time!

Garbage dump is easy because they give you the little reference spots on where to place the bombs to get it in time. I would say a hard one is beating that stupid fire creature in the melty molten galaxy with only 1 health point.

In my opinion, Dreadnought's Garbage Dump was pretty easy, the hardest star in the game in my opinion is Battlestation's Purple Coins. Oh my God this is hard! But I finally got it after I-don't-know-how-many tries :D

didn't mean to start a discussion on the hardest level of the game... dreadnaught trash and battlestation purple coins were definitely some of the harder ones though, but i still think most people would say luigi's purple coins was harder. I suppose a lot of it depends on what your natural abilities are.

I got the 100th coin on a yellow platform, and then there goes the cutscene of the star appearing on the starting board in the distance. But then it cuts back to Mario, and the platform has already been rotating!!!! (I died)

i think once you solve it once, it becomes really easy. i was dreading this stage the second time around and found the same thing you did... it was surprisngly easy. i think it has more to do with the practice than the character you used.
