One of the only famous Hong Kong "A-list" actor/singer who can truly do both and does not look gay. I am not Chinese but find Andy Lau, Tony Leung, and Chow Yun-Fat to be the only 3 actors who can truly act in Hong Kong. The rest just got lionized mainly because of their good looks are ability to sing. I don't Lai Ming, Jacky Cheung, or Aaron Wok can act. Never the awards they won, if any. The golden horse or other awards are made for marketing purposes.

Very much agree with u except..Jacky Cheung and Aaron Kwok are not a bad actor either..though their standard are not superbly high as the other three. U can watch Jacky and Aaron movie in the 80s and u can see they not that bad.

Yeah, I watched some of their movies made in the 80's. Like Chow Yun Fat and Andy Lau, I think Aaron Wok is very handsome and masculine. Tony Leung, to me, is considered beautiful, not handsome, as his look is less masculine than the others.

@dankaren95 One key reason is Andy, Tony and Chow Yun Fat were all graduates of TVB training course. They had undergone acting training. And they started their career not as leading actor in a TV series right away, but the cameo small roles. And worked their way up. So they are fundamentally solid in their acting skills, that explains why all of them enjoy a long lasting career. Unlike the new comers, most of them are a flash in the pan, never last.
