ya they are, lol, and they look to be a cross as well, kinda lean and a little on the short side, prolly with a tb or sport horse. nice vid though, nice country
Of course not all of the horses in the video are Clydesdales. Or at least not purebred Clydesdales. There's at least 1 Appaloosa cross in the background.
I think it's very cool that this man stopped to enjoy the horses. They are a unique form of beauty that many don't get to appreciate. And many others take for granted. Very sweet, carry-on.
lol XD 13.2? wouldnt that be a welsh C? or was he/she still growing? lol some1 said my pony looked massive in my vid, but he is 11.2hh rofl, i was like, err, hes titsy actually
Fences in horse country aren't there to keep the horses in. Horses are intelligent and know where they belong.
The fences are for bicycle riding city goobers who ooh and aah at everything they see beyond the sidewalks and indescriminantly tresspass where they don't belong.
Yeah. That's especially why they have electric fences, they tend get a bit more respect than regular old fencing. Though I can't say I blame city folk from doing it. I'd prefer them to be looking at my horses then ganging up with PETA or HSUS to convince someone that my slightly overweight pony or my bottomless pit of a Thoroughbred are somehow being abused.
I own a Clydesdale farm, and those are not Clydes. Clydesdales usually hove more white travling up the leg and into the flank. Those are beautiful horses but they are Shires.
Um, you can't even really distinguish whether it is a Clydesdale or a Shire from this vid. Shires are usually bigger and have a stronger stride, but seeing as these are standing still you cannot note the difference. I reckon it ARE Clydesdales seen as the horses in the back are not that much smaller than the Clydesdales (or perhaps Shires) in the front. Also I kinda reckon the man who made the vid, who probably lives closeby knows it better than you know-it-alls.
...wow...he was talking for about 5 minutes about a horse that wasnt even a clydesdale...not tryin to be mean but how old was he...40? doesnt he have better things to do than post these kind of pointless vids?
The near one is a Clyde mix. The second one he zooms in on is half or less than half Clyde. For sure. The near one I'm almost willing to say is a new-age percheron mixed with a clyde. The far one I'm going to guess at TB-Clyde.
The others are light horses. I see a percheron-type horse further in the pasture, but there you are. Right from a draft expert's mouth(fingers).
Nice horses, looks like they have good pasture and like the guy says, electric fence, NOT barbed wire. I may not know a lot about horses but grew up on a farm and rolled up my share of barbed wire when my dad was taking out a fence. For you who know your horses, do you think there are some Morgans or Belgiums mixed in here? Just curious. They do look nice, and I agree with equestrianskickbutt4-"mean"? Nice commentary from the guy doing the video. He's just having a good time, so why not?
Oh my God you guys. Some of them are clydes, some are crosses. Some are not even shires, clydes or crosses at all. I love horses, and I love clydes, but I'm pretty sure that this man didn't put the video up here for you to tear each other apart arguing whether or not they're clydesdales.
The dude never said they were ALL Clydesdale's, but there ARE some beautiful ones. I won a clyde/draft, and I love her to death, Yeah, shes actually a pretty nice mare.
Theyr'e Clydes. I've worked with one and I know at least two are Clydesdales. The closest one certainly is. You can usually tell the difference between the two breeds.
Oh, and I agree that draught horses don't necessarily have to have feather all the time. Some have it removed for tidiness and other reasons.
Also, I dunno how people can say about their heights from looking at a video with nothing to compare the horses with.
1 of them is a shire thers like 1 clydesdale n even then how cn u b sure of breeding they cud b Xs 2 of those horses are 16hh 1s 17hh most of them are ponies and i swear thats a barbed wire fence he doesn't look like a horsey type but he knows more than u lot tryna act like horses experts get a life ive had horses all my life..the oppurtunity of working with in the past few months a bay hanoverian a gypsyvanner and a chesnut welshy and 14.2hh a piebald cob
u r trying to be the know-it-all xxbaybeecutiexx! Blueroses1564 is correct they could be clipped, young, its not barbed wire and your trying to be the know it all and realy, what do you know. according to your comment nto much about these amazing animals. so if you have anything to say to that. well yea- take that... lol
THEY ARE FRICKEN CLYDESDALES, THEY DONT HAVE TO HAVE THE FEATHERS, THE OWNER MIGHT HAVE TRIMMED THEM SO WORKING WAS EASIER!! they are fricken clydesdales, so just shut the hell up
ya but they cant be clydes beacuse he hair on there feet isnt long enough! and the horses in the back arent shires cuz i have one and it looks nothin like them
Those are not Clydesdales nor are they Shires unless they were crossed with a shetland pony??? Whay not big enough and not enough feather. My welsh cob has more bone and feather than that lot. Lovely all the same.
I agree, I think the only Clyde is at the upper left of the video. The other ones don't appear to be stocky enough especially in the leg areas.. cannons and gaskin areas. Anyway you did a great job on the video, if you ever pass there again and see someone ask if they are Shires because it can be a little hard to tell size from the video... I wonder if they use them for plowing or possibly even pull carriages..
@ocsmike who's they? You and the rest of your husky friends? Good video as far as looking at the horses. But you really make this pathetic when you let the world know YOU yourself, are in fact a Clydesdale.. With other men. Pretty lame. I like double rainbow guy way better.
Actually, they will come close if you try. One time, I was near two horses, but there was an electric fence surrounding me. I just stared at them for about 45 minutes until they finally noticed me. All you need is patience.
Nice guy enjoying life. What it's all about folks.
