im pretty sure this song isnt dedicated to anime characters... like.... just stop... its obviously a statement about the american high upper class and mass media
To more than half the people listing anime characters for this song... I must ask, how? O-o
Think about the character carefully. Think about how they viewed the world, and how they acted. Have ANY of you listed a character who earnestly thinks like this?
Or did you just match two or three points? Like, Pein to being divine? Cause, Pein doesn't see things like this. In fact, he's pretty noble. Sasuke just hates. And Light? Really? He didn't use people for amusement. He was bored normally.
Light does use people for his entertainment. He even said that without L, this wasn't fun anymore, and he mocked N for not giving him the fun that L did.
@Karnezar Not to the same degree. He finds fun in the challenge presented by people, not by watching them move like flies. Honestly, this is more like Izaya from Durarara, who just watches people and laughs, as opposed to Light, who found fun in having a challenge. Light used his equals for fun, Izaya uses the general public. This song is the general public lol. Likewise, Lelouch from Code Geass is closer to this, since he used large groups. But he found more fun in crushing people then ruling.
I haven't seen Durarara, though I want to, I've heard interesting thinga about Izaya.
But about Light, his entertainment was targeted toward his opponents. If anything, this song can be directed toward those who opposed Kira. At first, he had fun with the police and L, targeting them against one another, and pretending to be L's friend to gain his trust. Then his radar was focused on just L to provide him with entertainment.
@Karnezar And you're point of "He even said without L" is kinda a point for this lol. He got bored without someone to challenge him. People bored him. Equals different. BIG difference.
@Frozeninmymind Why compare to anime characters? it's about celebrities and how their life is just a lie to please everyone and people worship then like gods and beg them to give them more. It's simple, plus a celebrity has wretched blood, they aren't what humans should be, they sell their personality and everything they had in life to please people and gain notoriety and fame.
@TheMGDCAcheivments I'm not saying TO compare to anime characters, I'm saying if you do do it, then why not at least make sure it's one that suits? Some of them don't even make sense.
@Frozeninmymind I don't think inanimate characters in popular Japanese English-Dubbed shows can really be compared to real life personalities and issues, due to the complexities of modern life, well in the case of a normal person unlike a celebrity that has no self-worth or pride. Then a anime character has a set story and personalty that is only altered through the writing of a a corporate writing staff. Therefor the world of life versus cartoon places anime characters to be left out of this...
@TheMGDCAcheivments Can't agree with you there. Whether the person be a fictional character or not, it still has a personality, and traits through which it can be defined, much like a real person. It doesn't go for all fictional characters, but for a decent character, it NEEDS to be able to move and act as a real person can and does. I'll say it shouldn't be done on this video, which is general lyrics, but on an AMV.
@TheMGDCAcheivments These fictional characters are commonly derived from real people, and their actions anyway though, so if we can't relate them to the characters their designed from, then quite clearly, the character simply wasn't made to their fullest potential. Asides from which, a fictional characters life, personality, and movements can be just as complex as those of a real person, even if it isn't seen too often. So how does real life place fictional characters in a place out of this?
@Frozeninmymind Because fictional is exactly that, fiction, it's not real. It can't be real so real life things and problems should not be compared and contrasted to fictional characters that are made up and can be altered. A human's personality can't be altered because the head writer decides to throw a twist into the mix of things humans have choice well at least normal humans do.
@TheMGDCAcheivments But just because it's not real doesn't mean it can't deal with problems, and issues present in the modern day world O-o Hell, fiction is a major point for teaching life lessons, as well as enabling people to better themselves. And you're right, a human's personality can't be altered by someone else. But have those exact same circumstances given to that person, and they MAY change personality in the same way, People change, JUST as often as fiction does. Anyways, whatever.
@TheMGDCAcheivments You're stuck on the point of real life can't be compared to fiction. Quite frankly, that pretty much means you believe a real scenario cannot inspire a fictional one. I'm not going to argue this further. But ultimately, you cannot just say "fake is fake" and "real is real". It's not that black and white. Alot of 'fictional scenarios' arise in life, and we react similiar to fictional characters, and vice versa. What do you think the characters are based on, anyway?
If you think a show can't include the complexities of modern life, then you need to go watch "Durarara" right now. The entire show is based on real-life situations (minus the two supernatural characters), and the focus is on everyday life.
And have you ever heard the phrase "let the characters write for you"? Because most GOOD writers let the characters control the story rather than twisting things themselves.
Once a writer creates a character, they can't really go and do whatever they want to it. For example, maybe an author wanted to have their character get kidnapped, but the way the character was originally written doesn't allow for that. If there is no way to make something happen without changing the character, then a good author would have to change the scene. Hence, the character writes the story.
@KappaOodobi This whole subject is honestly not even substantially relevant to the song, it's about celebrities being wretched and selfish and selling their personal lives for fame and recognition.
@TheMGDCAcheivments Then why did you feel the need to bring the topic up? I understand what the song is about, and I understand that fictional characters aren't REAL people; however, as Frozeninmymind and I have been trying to say, that doesn't mean that a song can't be fitting of a character's "personality", even if the character is fictional. I'm not asking you to change your opinion, I'm just asking that you acknowledge this idea as another way of thinking about fiction.
@KappaOodobi The problem I have with acknowledging this idea is the fact that the song was never intended to be compared to fictional characters so it should not be. It has a specific meaning tailored to specific events and situations.
@TheMGDCAcheivments Just because something was written with one intention, doesn't mean that other people won't interpret it differently. It happens a lot. How do you think people choose songs for movies? I'm a little concerned that you won't acknowledge other people's opinions on this matter. You see the song as it is written, while other people interpret it to fit with something else. It's part of life and people's experiences that change the way they interpret things.
@KappaOodobi Sound's like what religion is, an interpretation of someones opinion and people worship it rather sad, something is written with as single intention and a predetermined interpretation.
@TheMGDCAcheivments Well, if you're going to bring religion into this, then I have a great metaphor to help describe what I'm trying to say. There's a Hindu story about a group of blind men who each touch a different part of an elephant (such as the tail, or tusk), and when they compare their findings, they are all in disagreement. Basically, it means that they were all interpreting the same object in many different ways based on how it was presented to them, same as here.
@TheMGDCAcheivments And just because there's a predetermined interpretation doesn't mean that people will still interpret it a different way. It happens, we laugh about it, we move on.
@KappaOodobi Seriously, it is interpreted to be a bashing of how celebrities are and how people are dumb enough to worship how they are even though they gave up the matter of choice personality and opinion, this video is about the SONG not a cartoon or how a cartoon relates it is how the SONG relates to real-world issues and turmoils. Celebrities are pathetic and that is THE main interpretation of the song.
@TheMGDCAcheivments Yes. I agree. That IS in fact what the song is about, and what it is MEANT to be interpreted as. However, just because a song means one thing, doesn't mean it can't be applied to another situation. That is all I am trying to say here. I'm sorry if I am being unclear in any way, but I am saying that I agree with you that the song was written about celebrities, and I love the reality of it, but the lyrics can still be paralleled with fiction at times.
@KappaOodobi Your not being unclear but I still don't agree with a song intended for real life comparisons could be parallel to fictional characters. Honestly a character may have a basis that it is designed off of but that's hardly giving it real life capabilities and structure. This happens a lot, things are compared that shouldn't be and it becomes an issue mostly in music when people compare metal to rap or Hard rock to hip-hop. Comparisons honestly would be better not made.
@TheMGDCAcheivments Alright then. At least I know we both understand each others arguments even if we still disagree. I don't think anyone can really win this debate, so let's just agree to disagree before the creator of the video disables the comments! XD
@TheMGDCAcheivments Fictional characters can be written and drawn to act and react like real people would. As someone who watches a lot of anime, I can tell you that some of the characters are written to go through things just like real people do. They can relate.
@Fishcrazy321 -.- quit trying to draw blood from a dead topic, I'm done arguing about this, real life is real life, fiction is fiction. They are separate dimensions in which people find entertainment in either or. To mix them together is like calling a cube 2-dimensional because if you look at it a certain way, it has no depth.
@TheMGDCAcheivments It's on the first page, and I can reply as I please. Looks like you replied just after I sent my comment, and it's me who doesn't have a life? Sitting on a computer all day doesn't count as having a life, btw. I said they are written to deal with real life situations, many shows, animated and not are. It obviously works, considering they are very popular.
@Fishcrazy321 I replied just after you did because I woke up and went on youtube for a bit like any normal human might do. You can't draw a fictional character from real situations, you are making a scenario based of an inference, you then create characters with YOUR idea of it's personality, it doesn't create it's own, YOU then write to story to how YOU want it to be, you make the idea, you write it on the page, therefore the only real part is that author who thought of everything
Hey, how about we stopped reinstating the obvious. How many comments do I have to read about the song being dedicated to the SAME anime characters that others have already listed? Be original you idiots.
This song is not about being evil at all. Its about Pride and Greed, hes just saying hes better than everyone and everything and you are nothing but things to make him bigger and better even though he can treat you any way he wants and still be revered as a god. Its not about killing, madness, death, evil, etc. Just a guy full of Pride . Al in all still a pretty bad ass song.
"I am the closest thing to God" reminds me of Pein, definitely. He always thought of himself as one, anyway. And yes, I'm down on my knees begging for more of the Akatsuki. <3
Dulce tells lies, to confuse people, and not to be killed. She has information, that other characters have to get to. "She is the lie, everyone adores"
Scarlett threw away her life because of the grief of her mother. "She gave up everything" but taking out she gave it all up for fame.
Maxus says he's bored, and messing everyone for fun. "This is entertainment"
That also goes back to Dulce "Lies are Entertainment"
I love this! the first time i listened to this song i was like, what do they have against God? but i kept listening and realized it had nothing to to do with religion. its about media and paparazzi getting all the dirt on the famous and we feed off the fresh blood like a leech. we love to see people fall whether its a lie or not. we beg for more, to gossip or laugh or get angry about. and it destroys the poor because a divorce b/w celebrities are more important than a starving child
feed the rich fuck the poor these guys are heartless men ok and how the hell do u know there singing about celebs ha or ar eu just kissing there asses
Lol this song is different from wat i heard!! I thought it was 'the road i walk one is RAGING COLD' and 'i feed the rich so WORSHIP MORE; lol the real lyrics are a shock to me and the song was rated 10/10 when i heard it and now its 8.5/10 Well dont curse me dudes i just hate the F Bomb
I really like this song, but i think it'd be better if it had a little screamo mixed into it... like the line "you are down on you knees" that'd be awesome screamed.

I love this! the first time i listened to this song i was like, what do they have against God? but i kept listening and realized it had nothing to to do with religion. its about media and paparazzi getting all the dirt on the famous and we feed off the fresh blood like a leech. we love to see people fall whether its a lie or not. we beg for more, to gossip or laugh or get angry about. and it destroys the poor because a divorce b/w celebrities are more important than a starving child

i know one thing, all of their work is just crap. Because this song reached the pinnacle of awesomeness and now there's nothing that can surpass it :P
Btw i'm pretty sure that its "The wretched blood run through my veins" not "The rested blood runs through my veins"
I might be wrong though....
