Maybe I'm an old fogey but I used to drive a 13 speed Freightliner over the road and it sounds like grinding the gears to me. If I had that kind of trouble I would double clutch, or if you know what you're doing, you can shift without the clutch once you're moving.

That's not really splitters gears. That's just switching from High range to low range. Splitting gears is what you would do on a 13 or 18 speed. You got one half of a gear and when you split you are using the other half.

right. its the same with a super-10 speed accept it goes from hi to low range by itself. all you gotta do is hit the blue button.

he flipped the range selector - before going from 5th gear to 6 th gear .

@dana44s what he did was put the switch on to get to the top gears for the transmission, usually happens after hitting fifth gear, that's a 290 cummins diesel with a Fuller Roadranger Tramsmission.
