I didn't quite mean it that way. In the UK we are not quite as open as you guys - people generally keep themselves to themselves.

If I am filming something like this, I would not make it obvious that I was filming a lift (elevator) like elevatorgeek did (this is the bit that I found quite amusing!)

You're funny! Those other people in the elevator with you must have been thinking WTF!? You people in the US are a lot more forward that us in the UK. I would have put the camera down if that was me and act like I am going somewhere, then go back and start filming again!

It is because since this was a fancy hotel, I thought the elevators would be blocked by security who ask for key cards or the elevators would require a key card for operation.

There were a lot of Westin employees in the lobby, so I took a pair of stairs to the mezzanine level and went into the elevators from there no problem.
